A fine companion to end a meal or relax in front of the hearth with, this robust ale will cellar well for years. Brewed with ten varieties of malted barley this stout is extremely smooth, complex and rich in body. We recommend serving at cellar temperature. Sit back and enjoy its richness and complexity, you’re about to drink the ultimate winter warmer.

Smells liked a malted milk shake with hints of vanilla. Pours almost like a syrup but that could also be because I had it on the porch and it is 8 degrees out. Almost black in color, almost no head to it. It is very silly as they say and coats the tongue in tiny bubbles that quickly to give complex flavors. A slight sweetness at first yields to campfire and charcoal flavors but also bourbon notes like this was made with oak in some way. The last taste is bitterness from the hops and tannins. They don't lie, this works best in the winter next to a warm fire. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle from Readington Wine & Spirits. 2013 Vintage. Dense midnight black colorSmall creamy tan head. Roasted malt nose is restrained, with hints of dark chocolate. Thick, oily, roasted malt flavor. Notes of bittersweet dark chocolate, espresso and resiny hops. Smooth, silky mouthfeel. Sublimely magnificent. The 10.5% ABV is well hidden. Finish is full of flavor. Sultanas, plums, dates and espresso. Just amazing!

Coffee, dark chocolate, a little caramel, prunes and alcohol in aroma. Very dark color, opaque with dark brown head. Rich, deep, intense flavor of roasted malt. High bitterness. Fruity esters. Full-bodied, smooth, low carbonation.

Score: 9 / 5 / 8 / 4 / 17

355 ml bottle, vintage 2015, bb 24/09/16.
Pitch black, oily body, with a medium, stable, dense, creamy, lacing, dark coffee-colored head.
Lovely, dense aroma of melting dark chocolate, soy sauce, nuts, coffee, dark fruits, some vanilla, some liquorice, some tobacco.
Tastes similar, with some more spicy notes like dark bread, some wooden dryness.
Full, creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes roasty, medium bitter, medium dry, moderate sweet, warm, wooden, with bitter chocolate, coffee, liquorice, some soy sauce, subtle hops.

Delicious! Complex and rich, while straight and robust at the same time. Perfectly balanced, with enough dark sweet notes, like a lovely chocolate throughout, for the strong roastiness. Alcohol is greatly hidden. Perfect old-school Imperial Stout, without gimmicks, but with a lot of character.

Proper heavy roasted imperial stout. Nicely balanced on booze, quite smooth. Thick enough. Good.

Bottle.. Thick, low effervescence; head barely forms but is dark and creamy. Coffee and burnt sugar. Potent!

Butelka 0,33. Wygląd: absolutnie czarne, piana brązowa, ciemna. Aromat: kokos, wanilia, biszkopt, likier Kahlua.
