On tap at rattle n hum in NYC. Nice silky tan head capping a appealing oily black hue. Nose is full of bitter chocolate, coffee, and light citrus hop. Mouth is complex with the same but addition of light caramel. Smooth and creamy this one hides the alchohol well. Warming and a treat on this snowy day in the city. Rated via BeerBuddy

Bottle.

Medium dikke textuur, mooie volle smaak. Heerlijk!

Pours blacker than the innermost parts of Khazad-dûm with a brown creamy head that dissipates quickly leaving only a thin lacing. Rich aroma of coffee, brown sugar, burnt wood, some alcohol and even the sea. Full body, oily feel, soft carbonation. Intense taste of salty licorice, bitter chocolate, roasted malt, cough syrup and a touch of dark fruits(?) with a dry and intense finish. Beware of the ABV ’cause this is seriously drinkable!

From Mikkeller Shop. In Teku glass. Watching Looper. Amazing in all aspects. Thick, with a delicious dark fruits profile. I found myself drinking it in small sips so that it never ends

alteregoo (1388) - Kalisz, POLAND - JUN 1, 2017
Piana brązowa, obfita, drobna i trwała. Kolor czarny jak smoła, nieprzejrzysty. W zapachu głównie intensywne nuty palone, kawowe, truflowe i toffi.
Chyba najbardziej przypomina mi pierwsze, najlepsze warki Black z Mikkellera...

Chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, licorice in nose. Pours black with tan lacy head. Taste is medium sweet to sweet with chocolate, caramel, coffee, roastiness. Medium to high bitter finish, full body, soft carbo. Overall very good, I’m happy to try this classic.

Wow. Draft pint at Bearfoot Tavern. Black opaque with dark tan head, full bodied creamy. Roasted malt aroma. Taste has espresso licorice and roasted malts, followed by booze finish.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2017 355 ml bottle, served in snifter. Poured black as night on a moonless night with a three finger fuzzy mocha tan head. Low on carbonation. Aroma: roasted malts, vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans, dark fruit. Taste: holy crap this is good...roasted espresso beans, salty licorice, roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, fudge, whole wheat bread, raisins, dark fruit, toffee, marzipan, roasted nuts, sultana, graham cracker. Mouthfeel is just awesome, it’s thick, creamy, gloopy, just as I love my stouts the best! Full body with an amazing roasted and bittersweet finish. This is one friggin’ amazing imperial stout!!!
