Scopey (15877) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2011
Bottle at the CP&K thanks to Duff the hermit. It pours jet black, with a decent dark tan head. The nose is milk chocolate powder, roasted malt, smoke, sticky varnish, dark cherry and toffee. The taste is initially sweet notes of milk chocolate, toffee and salted caramel, then transitions with more savoury flavours of roasted malt, smoke, oak, peated malt, varnish and alcohol warmth, with a bitter roasted malt finish. Full body, fine carbonation, sticky mouth-feel and good balance. Tasty.

bhensonb (15841) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 10, 2009
Bottle from Archer Liquors. Pours quite black with a very thin dark tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate and mild burnt toast. Very full bodied with mild, mild carbonation. Flavor is really chocolate, followed by coffee, and the bitter seems supplied by burnt malt. Finishes really smooth, mostly dry and rather astringent. Heat is very well hidden. This is a really good IS.

Bottle as shown. Pours a very dark brown with medium tan head that lasts awhile leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is chocolate and roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel with a chocolate roast and light smoke in the finish. Easy to drink, hiding alcohol well, a very good imperial stout from Founders.

Draft at The Map Room, Chicago. Pours black with a dark brown head, beautiful! Aroma is pure and simple excellent impy stout - big roast, dark chocolate, coffee, light licorice, light soy and fudge. Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter, nicely balanced with a little alcohol warmth in the finish. Full bodied with soft carbonation. A nice brew!
