COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

Comparison between a 2010 and 2013 bottle. Pours a deep brown/black. Little to no carbonation on both, slightly more on 13. 10 has a much more prominent bourbon smell while 13 is more coffee forward. 10 has a nice boozy bourbon taste with coffee aftertaste while 13 is very coffee forward an a little more bitter. Both excellent. Smooth non-carbonated mouthfeel.

Barwa czarna, piana dość obfita, beżowa. W aromacie kawa, czekolada, wanilia, beczka, delikatnie alkoholowo. W smaku niezbyt gęsto (troche szkoda), ale mega intensywnie, czekolada, jest beczka, kawowa goryczka, alkohol przyjemnie rozgrzewający. Klasa.

Pours jet black, a small dark tan head. Aroma is a smokey, chocolate dark sweetness. Taste is sweet upfront, leading to a wonderful deep, smokey chocolate bitterness, a hint of alcohol warmth, more chocolate milk sweetness, plum, hint of sweet ripe nectarine, dark wood. Medium to low carbonation. Lovely velvety thick full bodied. Unbelievable!

Bardzo intensywnie czekoladowe, dość słodkie, do tego sporo wanilii i beczkowy, drewniany posmak, w kontrze lekka kawowa goryczka. Nie za gęste, ale wystarczająco dużo ciała. Alkohol lekko grzejących, szlachetny, dobrze wkomponowany. Deserowe, ale z ciekawym, beczkowym posmakiem. Bardzo dobre.

Bottle. Dark brown colour, almost black, small head. Aroma is coffee, bourbon, vanilla, some alcohol. A bit too few body for an imperial stout. I don't like it very much - too much coffee for me.

2016 bottle. I really expected more! I think and many masters think that it is overrated and yes it is! And too expensive for such stuff... Bourbon is OUT! almost no bourbon in it! Coffee - the main taste and aroma, little bit choco, malty, flavour and taste. Only coffee, Coffee stout. Little bit oaky. No head, no carbo. little bit watery. Its not complex as I expected. For example mout and mocca of De molen is better, and better price!!! Coz the name is exact what you taste. Here KBS is not the exact name what you taste. It must be Founders CoBS (not CBS - CBS is canadian breakfast stout) - I mean Co ffee Breakfast stout. So - verdict: maybe due to worldwide distribution - they decrease the quality of the beer. Or they just started to make improvisations with it. Whatever... - What I hear about the versions of 2011-2012 etc. - is that it is one of the best beers ever, and it is obvious - it took 4th place in ratebeer.com Now is much lower... Any way good beer, or perfect beer, but not the GOLD MEDALIST AT ALL!!! Not that extra-ordinary as everyone expects... I hope Founders see my comment! But I hope also not to stop distribute... its the easiest way to make a quality beer. The more quantity beers you create is the harder to keep the quality ON. This is the art. This is the final verdict.

Bardzo słodki i przyjemny aromat, złożony. Czuć przede wszystkim wanilię, kawę, czekoladę, orzechy laskowe, w tle szlachetny alkohol. Ten obiecuje bardzo dużo, ale smak jest lekkim zawodem - dość mocno czuć alkohol, jest słodko, waniliowo, gęsto. Niestety też lekko pusty finisz. Bardzo dobre, ale liczyłem na więcej.
