I had such a desire to try this beer so I was a little worried that the anticipation would cloud my judgment. Keeping that in mind, as I shared this brew with a buddy, I poured the bottle into two glasses. Very dark, almost opaque, with a a very nice head. Bourbon takes the front stage in the nose and is followed by a subtle coffee scent. The taste is amazing with coffee on the front and bourbon on the back end. The bourbon is like drinking some of the best you have ever had. Oh I wish I had a cigar while drinking this beer. No further description is needed other than to say this beer is amazing.

Bottled 355ml. -at Sir Williams Ljubljana. Finally I caught this breakfast after several years of waiting. Pitch black coloured, medium sized brown coloured, dark chocolate and wood in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, wood, some vanilla and light alcohol with noticable bourbon notes. Bourbon and light alcohol in the finish. Smooth and well-balanced. einherjar (467) - Rijeka, CROATIA - NOV 19, 2017
Bottle 355ml 11,9 % abv. Pours thick black with dark brown head. Aroma chocolate, bourbon, vanilla. Taste chocolate, bourbon, oak, alcohol warm. Coffee aftertaste. Just perfect! balloonbuffoon (605) - - NOV 16, 2017
Draft served in a snifter glass in less than ideal setting, but it's KBS! Note I've thoroughly enjoyed this from bottles in the past whenever I could come across some. This rating is below those experiences. The smell of bourbon is a primary characteristic of this dark oily beer. Taste is semi-sweet, mild-moderately roasted, and accented by oak flavors. Thick, rich, and a pleasure to drink as always. dmctaster (97) - Florida, USA - NOV 16, 2017
Black with a dark brown head that quickly dissipated. Aroma is strong bourbon and hints of chocolate malts. Taste is bourbon, and vanilla. Does not have the watered down or heavy taste, but does have a alcohol burn. Lives up to the name with the bourbon, very slight chocolate, and hints of vanilla. Here's to Johnny Harvard;
Fill him up a full glass,
Fill him up a glass to his name and fame,
And at the same time
Don't forget his true love;
Fill her up a bumper to the brim. GregMooreNH (117) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 12, 2017
Pours dark and oily with a rich, thick head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee and bourbon, in that order. Flavor is an explosion of chocolate and bourbon, mellowing to a rich coffee aftertaste. The beer has well-earned its reputation as among the best imperial stouts around. klakier (10) - Deurne (Antwerpen), BELGIUM - NOV 11, 2017

Aromatic chocolate praline and coffee, vanilla, praline really strong. alcohol in the back very nice, so classically imperial stout.
I hope I can taste it again! StoutBeerReviews (243) - Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 9, 2017
boozy musty wood flavor. Some licorice and black coffee too. It's super strong and certainly a sipper. Probably the most intense flavor I've had in a beer but not something I would buy again for that exact reason. My palate isn't up to par lmao. i dont know what to rate it because of this so im just going with a 4
