A bit of backwoods pleasure without the banjo. This strong stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels. Our process ensures that strong bourbon undertones come through in the finish in every batch we brew. We recommend decanting at room temperature and best enjoyed in a brandy snifter.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 A: Dark dark brown-black with a thin tan-brown head that doesn’t last long... not much in the way of lacing S: Rich roasted coffee, a blast of bourbon, vanilla, dark chocolate, caramel and general roasted malt scents.. very bold and complex T: Sweet vanilla tip before the rich coffee taste dominates with its chocolate and caramel tones... bourbon finishes off the flavor profile... you know that characteristic oak-spice burn with jack? ... yeah this beer has a bit of that at the end and its lovely... M: Smooth, full bodied, velvety, slight burn at the end O: Delicious. The smoothness really helps this monster go down... the only thing holding this baby back is the flavor complexity... its got a tad too much going on to keep drinking many of these... but thats not a bad thing at all!

On tap in a snifter at The Upper Lip, Portland, OR. Black with a minimal tan head that lightly laces. Aroma of chocolate, roasted coffee and a hint of bourbon. Some sweet malts and then moderate bitter. Soft carbonation. Very well balanced and enjoyable.

Bottle 0,355L. Deep dark brown color with thin, frothy, brown head. Amazing aroma of dark chocolate, coffee mixed with bourbon, gentle touch of vanilla and caramel. Taste starts light sweet with chocolate, than turns to light to medium bitter finish with bourbon and vanilla at the aftertaste. Alcohol is well hidden. Top shit beer!

Veldig god øl, mørk og kraftig smak av kaffe og karamell, aromaen på denne er vel en av de beste jeg har kjent... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Barwa czarna, piana dość obfita, beżowa. W aromacie kawa, czekolada, wanilia, beczka, delikatnie alkoholowo. W smaku niezbyt gęsto (troche szkoda), ale mega intensywnie, czekolada, jest beczka, kawowa goryczka, alkohol przyjemnie rozgrzewający. Klasa.

Thick. Syrupy. Low carbonation. chocolate walnut brownie notes. Strong bourbon finish. One of the best bourbon barrels I've had. I let it get to room temperature as founders suggested ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours jet black, a small dark tan head. Aroma is a smokey, chocolate dark sweetness. Taste is sweet upfront, leading to a wonderful deep, smokey chocolate bitterness, a hint of alcohol warmth, more chocolate milk sweetness, plum, hint of sweet ripe nectarine, dark wood. Medium to low carbonation. Lovely velvety thick full bodied. Unbelievable!

Bottle. Dark brown colour, almost black, small head. Aroma is coffee, bourbon, vanilla, some alcohol. A bit too few body for an imperial stout. I don't like it very much - too much coffee for me.

pinkzambia (2051) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 14, 2017
Bottle: Dark brown with a tan ring head. Coffee with sugar in the aroma. Chocolate malt in the flavor. Thick and syrupy.
