COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This one is near and dear to our hearts. Brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki wanted to make the birthday of his little sister, Liz, a special one. So he did what he does best and brewed a stout using a few of her favorite ingredients: fresh Michigan blueberries, rich chocolate and vanilla aged in bourbon barrels to round out those beautiful flavors. Liz was floored and we think you will be too.

Another marvel from the great ones! Exquisite black pour w/ an awesome tan head & lovely lacing. The aroma is an interesting mix of the blueberry, bourbon & chocolate notes. The taste is deep as well. The blueberry flavor stands out the most followed by the bourbon & just a hint of traditional stout in the finish. Very unique & rather exceptional!

Draught @ Noble Hops, Sydney Near enough black pour, looks diabolically thick, stained tan head. Unctuous aroma to it - chocolate fudge, vanilla & oak & expensive bourbon, dried fruits, sort of smells like a dessert. Texture is proper thick - like you could stand a spoon up in it! Lovely velvety mouthfeel, slight acidity from the fruit but never enough to completely cut through. Get the blueberries a bit more on the palate - its sort of a subtle flavour but its almost like a mix of a blueberry muffin, then take a bite of a dark chocolate (fudge) muffin, then take a swig of good bourbon - and you're sort of there. By the gods, its sweet though! Liquid dessert - truly decadent! If not a bit too much for more than a wee glass.

LECKER!

For a brewery that regularly makes amazing Stouts, Lizard of Koz may be the most brazenly hedonistic brew that Founders has ever concocted. This beer pours pitch black and thick. Vanilla, oak, berry, and cocoa aromatics. Flavor profile consists of syrupy berry, molasses, creamy vanilla, intense chocolate, and smooth whiskey. There's some big flavors vying for your attention in here, but the balance worked better than I expected. "If you squeeze my lizard / I'll put my snake on you" - Motorhead's "Killed by Death"

Bottle. A- Bourbon, blueberry, muffins, vanilla, chocolate. A- Black color, black liquid, tan head. T- Blueberry, bourbon, milk chocolate, vanilla. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- Good stuff. Lots of blueberry and chocolate. The vanilla adds a touch of complexity and the bourbon is there but not overwhelming. Nicely done.

sample from bottle @ZZT 2017 at Benzai's, bought in Leeuwarden, pours black with a khaki head. aroma is sweet, marshmallow, vanilla, lots of blueberries and some bourbon. Taste heavy cloying sweetness, fruity, lots of blueberries, vanilla, lactose, chocolate, roasted and toasted malts, alcoholic and soft bourbon, the blueberries are a very nice fresh, slightly fruit-acidic add-on. Full body, soft carbo. nice.

Thanks to ShivanDragon! 655 ml. bottle sampled @ ZZT 2017. BBF 31 October 2017. Black syrup with no head. Nose is chocolate liquorice syrup with blueberry but not in a fruit fashion, this is like candy almost artificial. Taste is like a milk chocolate candy bar with bits of dried blueberry in it, very candy-like, almost artificial but in a good way, it’s a bit much but it is very tasty and interesting, massive candied. If Quality Street were to make a beer this is how I imagine it would taste like.

Benzai (16681) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - OCT 21, 2017
Bottle shared @ ZZT 2017. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized brown head. Aroma is quite strong on the vanilla. Taste malts, heavy blueberries, vanilla, a bit tart, milk chocolate, sweet. Decent to medium body and carbonation. Not my thing.
