Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy peach color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. The aroma is absolutely fantastic... I would still be there smelling it if there wasn’t a schedule to keep. The aroma is very hoppy with notes of stone fruits, citrus and a light bready note. The taste is brandy, big hops, citrus, caramel, stone fruits. Quite a bitter beer and damn good. drewbeerme (3921) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 22, 2010
Tap at founders, pours golden white head, nose peachy and orange hop notes and booze. Flavors peach, apple, booze, mild oakyness, alcohol hits the back of the throat, messing middle but got better. JackT (71) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUL 22, 2010
Golden pour, thin white head. Awesome nose, tons of fresh citrus hop aroma. Strong oak and mild brandy flavors. Lightly carbonated, slightly thin palette. Bitter hop finish. ryan (3185) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - JUL 22, 2010
Nice oaky nose over top of lots of citrus hops and plenty of cotton candy sugars. Taste is lightly to moderately sweet, nice attenuated, moderately bitter. This is a bit mellowed from the regular Double Trouble. Some oak, some brandy to go along with the massive amounts of citrus you’d expect. Finish is bitter and lasting. Nice.
