Perhaps my new favorite beer from Founders. Pours a silky shade of brown with a sugary tan head. Smells incredible -- brimming with brown sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla. I would swear this is barrel aged. Tastes just like it smells and just as good. Balanced and creamy. Awesome. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - NOV 29, 2010
On tap at Founders in July 2009.
Pours a deep brown with some rusty hues. A nice tan head and plenty of lacing as it goes down. Lots of maple syrup in the nose alongside sweet malt and a little bit of caramel. Hints of vanilla as well. The taste is much the same, with the maple really shining through and combining perfectly with some woody notes. The mouthfeel was full, smooth, silky, and absolutely amazing. Quite drinkable all around, and was a nice substitute for CBS when I was there.

I had this on tap at Founders Festival 2009 with BeerBaron617. I must say, it was worth the extra drink ticket! Awesome brew. A nice thick malty beverage. Dark brown with a caramel head. Heavy aroma, sweet, maple, sugar, everything nice :) Heavy mouth feel, not quite syrupy...but absolutely delicious! If I can find it around me, I will certainly buy it again! mattmc1973 (479) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - AUG 9, 2009
On tap at brewery. Clear rich brown with tan head. Aroma of oak, maple, sweet malt, brown sugar, and dark fruit. Taste is very sweet, syrup, molasses, and caramel. Creamy and very smooth mouthfeel. This was delicious! cprochak (590) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 15, 2009
Draft at Capone’s on 8/15/09. Pours a deep brown, just a hint of burgundy. Thin, bubbly head. Great sweet caramel and maple arome, hint of honey and touch of earthiness. Nice sweetness to it, but just a touch of bitterness to balance. Very drinkable and an absolutely incredible brown, but overall just a TOUCH too sweet. Couldn’t handle more than 1 or 2 of these.
Wow, just read the ABV and I cannot believe this is 10%. Can’t taste at all.

On draft at Capones. Pours a dark maple wood amber with a small beige head. Aroma of maple syrup, waffles and vanilla expresso. Taste of maple syrup, waffles and vanilla expresso. Very nice. Blaze312 (132) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - MAR 30, 2009

Had this on tap with Dave himself @ Chumley’s in Broadripple the night before the Broadripple Microbrew Fest. Great treat that I had 2 glasses of. Sweet up front with a bourbon sweet maple presence and of coarse oak. Aged in a barrel that first held bourbon , then maple syrup, then what an awesome barrel to throw a beer in ..you get the picture! My 100th rating on this special brew! CHEERS to all... markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 26, 2009
On tap @ Founders. Pours dark brown with a white head. Nose is maple, bourbon, vanilla, caramel, malt, and love. Flavor is sweetness from beginning to end. Malt, maple, love, depth, complexity, and more maple... there is a ton of sweetness, but it is still loveable and a bit boozy. Bourbon adds to the sweetness: vanilla, maple, malt, and bourbon. Very little bitterness and lots of love. hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 15, 2009
On tap at Capone’s (thanks RLB for buying me this glass of beer!). Poured a deeper brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas o maple syrup, vanilla, molasses, woodiness, and brown sugar. Tastes of maple syrup, chocolate, vanilla, some woody/earthiness, and brown sugar. Definitely on the sweeter side and a sipper. Alcohol content well hidden.
