Draft at Founders Taproom on 8/12/11. Poured a darkish brown. Off white head. Aroma was very mild, just a bit of roasted nuts. Flavor also muted. Some caramel and maltiness. This one was just ok for me. Very drinkable, but not very memorable. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 5, 2011
On tap at Founders brewery. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of raosted malt, nuts, malt and more nuts but in a mild way. Taste of roasted malt, nuts, chestnut, malt and a peppery finish. Not bad, considering the word mild is in its title. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUL 12, 2011
tap at founders. i think this is the base brown (or uses the same base) for the misty, cashew, maple, and other brown variations they put out seasonally/yearly. pours translucent brown with white head. light hops accompany the slightly toasted oat profile. nothing too substantial here, just a solid quaff brown ale.
