COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Founders take on a classic style, brewed with a generous amount of flaked oats, chocolate malt, roasted barley and a healthy helping of Nugget hops, Founders Oatmeal Stout is nitrogen-infused to give it an extra smooth and creamy mouthfeel. An attractive cascade effect gives this beer its forthright visual appeal—and the body and clean flavor delivers on that initial promise.

Tap @ brewery. Pours pitch black, with a beige head. Roasted, malty aroma, coffee, chocolate, hops. Dry, medium body and bitterness, creamy CO2. Roasted, malty taste, chocolate, ashes, coffee. Nice. (2014-04-03)

Opaque, fine foamy top. Thin texture, light body, dry, little flavor, short palate, watery finish. Dark roast coffee flavor. Very disappointing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a jet black color with a very foamy, long-lasting white head. Smells of roasted malts. Taste is sweet roasted malts and some lightly bitter chocolate. Goes down smooth and cold. Makes me think of a sweeter, fuller version of Guinness. Very good.

This one poured with a darker brownw tih a casade beige head. Aroma was of lactose, milk chocolate, and mild roast. Flavor was big dark choclate, milky, light roast, somewhat dry but clean and refreshing.

flatmatt (1576) - Northville, Michigan, USA - APR 3, 2014
On tap at Ashley’s Ann Arbor. Pours a deep brown with a nice airy light tan head. Roasty malt aroma and smooth roasty coffee flavor with cocoa and vanilla, kind of that classic oatmeal stout blend. A pretty nice one.

Nitro @ Cottonwood. Black with the expected nitro head. Nice nutty roasted aroma. Surprisingly delicate coffee and vanilla flavor with a smooth finish.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7796) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 24, 2014
Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a black color with a large foamy dark tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was chocolate, vanilla, a bit of coffee and a touch of roasty malts. The flavor was roasty, dry and bitter with notes of coffee, cream and a hint of chocolate. Long dry, roasty and bitter finish. Medium body. Ok.

An amazing, light stout. All the typical founders dark beer flavors without the abv or weight. That being said, still has a nice, full body.

KyotoLefty (10264) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 15, 2014
Tap at Macgregors. Dark pitch black with a fine, tan, nitro-looking head. Dry roasty nose, dark chocolate, cream. Smooth nitro silk body. Great balance. Smooth and tasty, mildly roasty with cocoa.
