appearance: opaque very dark brown, typical tan nitro head. aroma: even typically subdued, good nose of roasty chocolate and coffee, with some vanilla. taste: dry, bittersweet dark chocolate, melted milk chocolate follows, with some toasted brown bread, roasted espresso beans, and vanilla. finish: smooth and toasty, with a hint of herbal hops. notes: Don’t normally care for nitro beers, but saw this on offer and had to try it. Glad I did. Excellent beer. Draught at the Avenue Pub, New Orleans trip 2016.

Beer Helsinki. Deep reddish brown colour with a creamy brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some toffee, chocolate, liquorice and mild ripe fruits as well. Flavour is quite similar, but has a quite strong roasted tone to it, bringing down the sweetness quite much. Somehow the whole feel of the beer made me think of Marstons Oyster Stout.
Kind of a boring offering from one of the best their is! Beautiful black pour w/ a retaiiing tan head that leaves some lacing. Faint notes of chocolate & dark malt in the aroma. The taste is a touch thin, a tad bitter, & a slightly roasty in the finish. Certainly drinksble but I expect so much more from these guys! ulrikolsen (576) - DENMARK - JUN 25, 2016
