A Founders take on a classic style, brewed with a generous amount of flaked oats, chocolate malt, roasted barley and a healthy helping of Nugget hops, Founders Oatmeal Stout is nitrogen-infused to give it an extra smooth and creamy mouthfeel. An attractive cascade effect gives this beer its forthright visual appealand the body and clean flavor delivers on that initial promise.

Keg at Draft House Hammersmith, as Founders Nitro Oatmeal Stout. Served ultra-cold. Opaque black, small dense tan cap, full lacing. Aroma is light filter coffee, some metallic notes. Body is fairly light, soft carbonation. Taste is lactic and creamy, smooth malt, light coffee and ash. Some good features here. Its essentially like a sweeter lactic version of Guinness. Very drinkable, but nothing special.

Draught at the Gallows, 2/6/16.
Nitrogenated pour shows a typical large, beige head with strong retention atop a deep ebony body of indeterminable clarity.
Light milk chocolate, dusty cocoa, earthy/crunchy roasted coffee notes and very soft vanilla all give a very standard interpretation of the style. As per nitrogen, not a ton of aroma, but whats there is dark and roasty, so you get the idea.
Wet, loose, somewhat creamy mouthfeel at times with a very drinkable, dry, well-attenuated body. Cocoa, coffee, light vanilla and a touch of cream and honey all end with dark chocolate and more earthy, dry roast. Love the abv on it and could easily drink this stuff all day.

(Keg at St. Urhos Pub Portteri- ja Stout-pivt 2016) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Its head wad medium sized, dense and nearly white. Aroma had burnt malts and coffee. Palate was medium bodied and soft with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, coffee, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, watery and bitter. A nice but too thin brew.

Draught @ St. Urho?s Pub, Helsinki. Pours pitch black with a thick foamy white head. Aroma of sweetish roastiness, milky notes, hints of coffee and milk chocolate. Taste is super smooth, slick and slightly watery with hints of roastiness, milky notes, chocolate, coffee and cocoa. Finish is slick, smooth and slightly lactic with some roastiness, coffee and chocolate. Smooth but quite light bodied milky stout. Easy going but still pretty tasty.

A not great oatmeal stout. Pours a beautiful deep black with a super thick nitro head. Smells of toasted nuts and oatmeal. Taste is creamy but basic and doesnt taste like much. Bit of milk, oatmeal and hops. Had on tap.
