COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Founders take on a classic style, brewed with a generous amount of flaked oats, chocolate malt, roasted barley and a healthy helping of Nugget hops, Founders Oatmeal Stout is nitrogen-infused to give it an extra smooth and creamy mouthfeel. An attractive cascade effect gives this beer its forthright visual appeal—and the body and clean flavor delivers on that initial promise.

Black body, light brown head. Aroma has some roasted malts, ash. Flavour is quite flat and with some acrid malts. Light on palate.

Draught @ William K, kurvi. Pours black in color with a thick dense creamy off white head. Roasted malty aroma, some cocoand chocolate. Flavor has roastedness, chocolate, sweetness, hint of vanilla. Smooth and high drinkability. Not too sweet. Pleasant.

Keg at Draft House Hammersmith, as ’Founders Nitro Oatmeal Stout’. Served ultra-cold. Opaque black, small dense tan cap, full lacing. Aroma is light filter coffee, some metallic notes. Body is fairly light, soft carbonation. Taste is lactic and creamy, smooth malt, light coffee and ash. Some good features here. It’s essentially like a sweeter lactic version of Guinness. Very drinkable, but nothing special.

Tap at McCoy’s. Pint glass. Creamy dark brown with thick tan head. Well balanced malty sweet fullness. Soft . A solid oatmeal stout.

Draught at the Gallows, 2/6/16.
Nitrogenated pour shows a typical large, beige head with strong retention atop a deep ebony body of indeterminable clarity.
Light milk chocolate, dusty cocoa, earthy/crunchy roasted coffee notes and very soft vanilla all give a very standard interpretation of the style. As per nitrogen, not a ton of aroma, but what’s there is dark and roasty, so you get the idea.
Wet, loose, somewhat creamy mouthfeel at times with a very drinkable, dry, well-attenuated body. Cocoa, coffee, light vanilla and a touch of cream and honey all end with dark chocolate and more earthy, dry roast. Love the abv on it and could easily drink this stuff all day.

mjs (7675) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 17, 2016
(Keg at St. Urho’s Pub Portteri- ja Stout-päivät 2016) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Its head wad medium sized, dense and nearly white. Aroma had burnt malts and coffee. Palate was medium bodied and soft with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, coffee, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, watery and bitter. A nice but too thin brew.
