3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
older notes...as silphium stated, this pours a murky, off-putting brownish color with small head. definately not a sexy beer. this is full of piney and bitter hops, caramelized malt, and some toasted grain. pretty standard, and a decent switch from their traditional heavily roasted and oily black porters...

On tap at the brewery. Murky medium brown body (several people have likened it to the Grand River, which may have been fair decades ago), medium clumping cream head. Bitter, sharp, hoppy nose of pine needles and coffee. Hoppy body, dominated by spruce and pine, with toasty malts and hints of brown sugar. An interesting porter, tasty.
