Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Lightly hazy golden, richhead. Strong aroma of grapefruit. Fairly sweet with light, soft doughy malt. the lightness and softness allows for full access to the citrusy, perfumy hops. Very up front and hop driven. A focused pale ale up to Founders high standards! BrotherGrendel (787) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 3, 2009
Bottle at Pinhook. Cloudy yellow hue and thick creamy head like a hefe!! Nose is floral and citrus hops with a decent malt backbone. Flavor is more malty than expected, the hops are more in the background here and there is moderate floral and citrus tones mostly in the finish. An interesting beer with a hop nose and malt flavor, easy drinking and balanced with little alcohol heat. This doesn’t fit nearly into a classic style but is still delicious. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - AUG 23, 2009
Thanks coyotehunter! Cap came off with a strong -hiss- but didn’t gush out of the bottle, though the head rose very quickly in the glass and fell slowly and awkwardly. Seems like a tablespoon poured yields 3 inches of head. The thick head is prohibitive of much of the aroma, maybe some cinnamon. Some lemongrass in the sip, sweet bread, light bodied but a full and very lasting balance between lightly roasted grain and citrus hops. Bummer it took me ten pours to get it in my glass. buzzoven (376) - JAPAN - AUG 20, 2009
Had this at the Pinhook in Durham, NC. My friends were recommending it to me, but once I had it, I could not enjoy fully. The tangy, semi salty, semi sweet, semi sour flavour ruined it for me. Bad batch, or is supposed to be like this? Unique, but not so good for me. jredmond (8204) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 10, 2009
Bottle. Pours light hazy orange body with lots of white head. Aroma is floral and fruity hops. The flavor is sweet malt. Very smooth and sweet beer.

Pours amber/copper with a thin off white head. Smells grassy and earthy. Tastes of caramel, some earth, a spicy finish. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - AUG 5, 2009
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2012 Re rate: Bottle pours a hazy golden with a strong white top. Bready scent and taste. Very good dmschefke (575) - Macomb, Michigan, USA - JUL 31, 2009
Pours a pale orangish gold with medium white head, decent lacing. Aroma of a mix hop profile, herbal, citrus, and floral, strong malt and bread, and definitely a decent bit of spice. Flavor matches all too well with a slight sweetness to it. Decent, refreshing, but nothing I would mow the lawn with. awiseman01 (469) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - JUL 31, 2009
1/2 a shared 12oz. bottle. Pours relatively clear orangish/golden, little to no head, minimal rising bubbles. Nose is strong on pine with moderate hops. Taste is dry carbonated piney, dirty hops, apparently of the cascade variety. Some floral hops come through as well as some citrus notes. Finish is dry, bitter and the carbonation seems to linger longer than normal. This style serves a purpose, but it’s not for me. madvike (3250) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 26, 2009
Bottle - This is what a beer should look like, pouring golden amber and hazy with a massive head. Smells of citrusy hops with a bit of malt. The taste is a bit more hop-forward than I want from a pale. The hops start out citrus, then transition into a dry, bitter finish. There’s some grains and malt in there, and it’s smooth and resiny in the mouth. Decent, but wouldn’t buy again.
