Usually saison is the vehicle beer for peppercorns, but in this pale ale it works, and it works good. A deep rich peppercorn flavor to this one, the beer is merely an extension of the peppercorn, so good. Tmoney99 (15126) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 1, 2012
Draft sample. Poured clear amber color with an average fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate spice hot aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth balanced pepper flavor with a medium sweet & pepper finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

On tap at Founders. Bit of peppercorn in the nose with slight citrus and floral character. Flavor is similar, but more pepper. Some bitterness. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUN 24, 2009
this isnt the "peter piper peppered pale" or the "pepper pale"..its a peppercorn pale, as opposed to the jalapeno pale which is called simply the "pepper pale" (as to not scare people away i assume)..excellent beer..tap..pours hazy orange with medium white head..nicely carbonated..a slight peppercorn aroma to the large hop existence..more drinkable than the "pepper pale" (again which is jalapeno)..flavor has just a touch of peppercorn, and finishes dry and bitter..hops galore..clean, fresh, crisp and overall a great "hot day" beer..cheers to founders for pushing the envelope and making excellent beers
