Draft at brewpub.
Poured clear orange color with an average white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate green chili and small hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Warm chili and small bitter flavor and medium bitter finish of moderate duration.
Interesting and my expectations were met. pantanap (3367) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 15, 2009
tap at the brewpub last weekend...medium apple cider brown pour with a thin soapy white head... aroma was heavy on the pepper with a moderate citrus hop backdrop... light citrus and grappy hop flavor with additional white peppar notes. decent mouthfeel. couldn’t have too much of this though. tap at the brewpub. pours a hazy yellow. spcey, some pepper, easy drinkin. better options at the brewpub, but a nice brake from the 10 % beers. who knows. Silphium (3224) - Traverse City, Michigan, USA - DEC 26, 2006
On tap at Founders. Hazy yellow-brown body, thin off-white head. Aroma and flavor of their basic pale ale, with light, subtle spiciness. My overall impression was of their regular Pale Ale. Pretty good, but possibly pointless. ryan (3185) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - JAN 9, 2007
Pale body with small white head. The aroma is bread, citrus and floral. The flavor is bread, honey and herbal. Light body with soft carbonation, easy drinking.

On tap at Founders. Pour a gold with a little head and intriguing aromas of pepper and a little citrus. Flavor falls a little short, though as the sweetness of a honey malt presence doesn’t play nicely off the pepper presence and the two just kind of collide. badnewsbeers (2312) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - DEC 27, 2006
on tap at founders...golden orange body with small head..aroma is of a typical light pale ale, as is the flavor...the flavor brings out more of the herbal, peppermint aspect than does the nose...nice and light, not too sweet or cloying xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - MAY 2, 2009
On tap at the brewpub. Clear golden color with medium white head. Real peppery upfront aroma with spicey hops that you really have to fight to smell, dry malt. Spicey and peppery flavor with once again dry malt, caramel first with a little biscuit, some fruitiness, interesting but this takes the right person to drink it. Medium with active carbonation. Really reminds me of DDC route d’epices with that peppercorn so forward, I’m not sure if I like this or not, but its fresh atleast. punkrkr27 (903) - Berkley, Michigan, USA - JUL 22, 2009
Tap at Founder’s. Orange-gold pour with a small ring of white lace. The aroma is sweet citrus, honey, toffee, and black pepper. Notes of orange and lemon hit the tongue first, followed briefly by some biscuit and caramel malt and then some jalapeno, black pepper and heat really builds. Sticky, medium body with a fair amount of carbonation. AlabastorJones (815) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 19, 2006
Strange ale, tastes like a green pepper, light in the mouth, not much of a nose, thin golden color with little to no head, an interesting experiment
