COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. Its a lover, not a fighter.

A rich and flavorful porter, this pours a dark brown like Guinness, but the roasted hops offer a smokey coffee flavor.

Hits all the right notes for a porter. Great balance of smoke and malt, with just a hint of hop spice

Pours dark brown with black shadows. Malt, coffee, chocolate. Very rich but not bitter. Not as intense as the breakfast stout which for me is good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown (almost black) pour with a tan, creamy head. Good retention. Aroma is nuts, toffee, sweet chocolate, heavily roasted malt, slightly earthy. Starts off with malty sweetness accompanied by a tiny bit of carbonation and the sweetness is slowly subdued by bitterness and finishes in balance. Medium-full body, moderately low carbonation, slight alcohol warmth.

Bottle 355 ml. Pitch black with a small brown head, quickly diminishing. Aroma and flavour: roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits, notes of vanilla, coffee. Everything that makes a good porter! Taste is a good balance of sweetnes and bitterness. A bit thin. Dry finish.

Black with creamy brown thick head that lasts the entire glass. Chocolate and coffee in aroma and taste, that has a great bitterness to it. Probably the best porter Ive ever had.

Pours a pitch black with a one finger tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is of roasted malts, bakers coco, black coffee, and some mild hop bitterness. Flavor is of roasted malts, bakers coco, milk chocolate, espresso, caramel malt, toffee, some tobacco, and some mild hop bitterness. Has medium full body with a slick, creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, long, semi bitter, but still sweet finish. overall, a fantastic beer that is definitively the best porter I have had to date.

Draft @ Coalhouse Pizza, Stamford, CT. Notes of sweet tobacco, coffee, chocolate. Smooth, rich and pillowy, very solid porter.

Deep brown pour, small head. Perfect porter on the nose. Chocolate balancing dark roasted malts, just a bit of the hop character coming through. Big, robust flavor for a brew at 6.5%. Smooth - goes down easy. This onell scratch the itch for a dark brew without sending you packing. Nice.

Bottle in Ann Arbor.

Exceptionally dark brown pour, strong roasty, nutty aroma, gently sweet, bakers chocolate, just a hint of ash. Delicious.
