COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. Its a lover, not a fighter.

Tap at RattleNHum, Manhattan - 02/03/12. Pretty solid black with a tan head, slight brown edgeing when held to light. Roasted malts a good pinch of coffee and a dash of cocoa on the nose - great aroma! Taste as per nose coffee and chocolate in equal doses and a little licquorice at the back. Medium bodied with a thick creamy finish of malt, chocolate and coffee. Great Porter!

More than a porter should be. Great chocolate taste, sweet with no hip or other bitter after taste. Light brown head leaves nicely on the glass. Has the mouth feel of a stout.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a small brown head that dissipates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is rich and lightly bitter with roasted malt and semi-sweet chocolate dominating the palate, with just a hint of smoke and grass in the background. Mild bitter finish. Very satisfying.

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2012 Wow. This is a stellar porter. So many are all cream and no guts, but this has an assertively hoppy flavor, while balanced at the same time.

On tap at The Flying Saucer on 7/20/2012. Pours almost black with a small brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste is well balanced between malt sweetness and hop bitterness. Awesome porter.

A rich and flavorful porter, this pours a dark brown like Guinness, but the roasted hops offer a smokey coffee flavor.

Hits all the right notes for a porter. Great balance of smoke and malt, with just a hint of hop spice
