COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders’ robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. It’s a lover, not a fighter.

Had at brewpub. One of the best porters I've had. Great looking beer that follows with a great taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Quality stuff, not great. Pouts dark brown with a small head, aroma is light and burnt. Flavor is roasted and tart, but not overly strong. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Dark brown with a beige head. Roasty aroma of coffee, a bit of chocolate and dark fruits hints. Sweetish roasty flavor with chocolate, coffee, and a pleasant drier finish. Medium to full body, silky mouthfeel. A very nice Porter.

Not real smoothe for a porter but it tasted real good the carbonation almost takes over

Tap at Rattle’N’Hum, Manhattan - 02/03/12. Pretty solid black with a tan head, slight brown edgeing when held to light. Roasted malts a good pinch of coffee and a dash of cocoa on the nose - great aroma! Taste as per nose coffee and chocolate in equal doses and a little licquorice at the back. Medium bodied with a thick creamy finish of malt, chocolate and coffee. Great Porter!

More than a porter should be. Great chocolate taste, sweet with no hip or other bitter after taste. Light brown head leaves nicely on the glass. Has the mouth feel of a stout.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a small brown head that dissipates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is rich and lightly bitter with roasted malt and semi-sweet chocolate dominating the palate, with just a hint of smoke and grass in the background. Mild bitter finish. Very satisfying.

UPDATED: AUG 1, 2012 Wow. This is a stellar porter. So many are all cream and no guts, but this has an assertively hoppy flavor, while balanced at the same time.

355ml bottle. Pours black with tan head. Roasted, almost burned aroma with smoke. Flavour is smoke, roasted malt, ashes and tobacco. Smooth, a little bitter aftertaste.
