COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pours silky black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet with strong chocolate and caramel malt presence. No absence of hops gives Founders robust porter the full flavor you deserve and expect. Cozy like velvet. Its a lover, not a fighter.

Dark brown colour with brown head. Roasted malts aroma. This is full of dark chocolate and coffee, so its more bitter than some other porters. Unique.

Pours a dark brown with little head. Some nice aromas right off the bat, roastiness and a bit of chocolate notes. Medium bodied porter that is very smooth and easy to drink. Pretty good option if you are a fan of porters.

Pours out very dark brown, little tan head. Smells of chocolate and roasted coffee. This beer is as smooth as they come. Every drink makes you want to take another bigger, longer one. This is by far the best porter I have ever had. Purely perfect.

A: Pours a very dark (not quite pitch black) reddish black color. Theres a one finger tan colored head, and it doesnt have much retention, or lacing. Still looks nice, though. S: This has a lot of chocolate on the nose. Theres some roasty coffee as well, but it almost smells like a melted chocolate bar to me. T: Theres more coffee in the taste than there is on the nose; likewise, it isnt as chocolaty as the nose would suggest. Lots of coffee (not too much), hints of smoke and chocolate, roastiness, and a hint of a hoppy finish. It does a good job of not being overtly vegetal in its texture (usually my least favorite part of a porter), and has some nice complexity to it, as well. M: Medium bodied, dry finish, low carbonation, smooth, hint of astringent coffee on the back end - basically, everything a good porter should feel like. O: All things told, its quite good. Not my absolute favorite dark beer of all time, but its an excellent choice in the future when I dont feel like having a stout.

[Thanks to MatSciGuy]. 12fl. oz. bottle. Black colour wirth a moderate formation of a tan and creamy head, nice lacing and medium lasting. Aroma is toasty, strong dark coffee and slightly licorice. Flavour is toasty, roasty, ash could be present, wood and with a mild spicy flavour. The final is toasty with a decent duration in the aftertaste. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium to high. Texture is oily.

It poured a dark color with a tan head. The aroma was of roasted coffee and some cocoa. The taste was coffee and sweet malts at the start, with a bit of cocoa and cofee in the finish. A very good Porter.

Bottle. Pours very dark with a nice brown head. The smell is mostly that of malts. Taste is smooth with some chocolate and a lot of malt. Damn fine porter.

Bottle/12oz - Pours a very dark black/brown in color with a small tan head that faded quickly to a thin covering over the beer. Aroma is malty with dark roasted malts prevalent. Some chocolate and dark fruits. Flavor matches with some nice dark chocolate bitterness filling in the gaps. Awesome...

Bottle. Dark brown pure with a an thick frothy head. Aroma of roasted malt, earth and faint mocha. Velvety mouthfeel and full bodied, almost the consistency of milk. Lasting yet smooth finish. Phenomenol!

355 ml bottle.
Rated on 20110325.
Pours black color with small head. Aroma clearly has some "danish vegetables", roasted malts, mild chocolate notes and ripe fruits. Flavor of ash dry chocolate, roasted malts and wood. Smooth palate, but something is a bit off. Not the best porter Ive tasted.
