Bottle @ home, 27 / 7 2013. Dark brown almost pitch black, very small tan head, okay lacing that doesn’t last long. Aroma, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, . Taste, roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, licorice, vanilla. Dry roasted aftertaste. Great porter.
20-01-2018; bottle; drank in Voss, Norway (bought at Saveur Bière, as part of their Januari 2018 discovery box).
The looks of the beer are perfect. It hast the looks a Porter should have. The beer is so dark, it looks pitch black. But, some light reveals a lovely ruby red glow. On top of the beer a lovely layer of brown soft foam is formed. Foam retention is average. A nice thin drape and some lacing are left. All in all, a lovely beer.
The smell of the beer is nice, but there are stronger smelling Porters. It is on the edge of being mild. There are some lovely malt aromas, typical for a Porter. They give chocolate, coffee, some walnut and some overall roasted malt aromas. Quite nice. The hops give some nice bitter notes, but they aren't to strong. The focus of the smell is malt. Not bad, but for me it could have been a bit stronger.
The taste is lovely. This is definitely 10/10. The first you taste are lovely malt flavours. Chocolate, espresso coffee, toffee, caramel, walnut, a hint of smoked malts and loads of toasted malts. All this gives nice strong sweets, but also gentle yet firmly present bitters and a savoury touch from the smoke and toast. Hops give some extra bitters, but mainly some fruity acidic touches, bringing the balance to perfect levels. It also has a lovely yeasty touch, that is present in some more Porters. It is quite typical and a bit herbal, but it is very nice. It suits the beer very very well.
The palate of the beer is nice. Medium body, slightly thin texture and medium, almost medium high carbonation. The beer could have been a bit fuller. The finish of the beer is nice. Chocolate and especially coffee malts, a touch of bitter hops, and more toasted barley. All in all, a lovely beer. One of the better Porters around. ZodiacM (1360) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 19, 2018

W zasadzie kopia aromatu w ustach. Fajne to. Deon (377) - POLAND - JAN 12, 2018

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2018 Pours black with a creamy brown head. Smells of roasted caramel malts and coffee. Medium bodied, slightly sweet, with mild hop . Lightly carbonated. cruik (25) - - JAN 6, 2018
Pours from a bottle black, with a thin, creamy tan head. Aroma is coffee and roasted malt. Bittersweet and ever-so-slightly sour taste. Excellent, lightly roasted profile with a medium body. The sweetness is balanced nicely by the hop presence. Great beer. humpah (381) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JAN 5, 2018
0,355l bottle from Beer Republic. Pours black color with slight head. Aroma of quite roasted malts, dark coffee, chocolate, caramel, sweetness, some hoppiness, and cocoa as well. Medium body, quite roasty and sweet, some hoppiness to back up a bit. Roasty aftertaste. Quite balanced and complex, rich sweet taste, definitely more complex than your average 6.5% porter. oberschlesier (216) - Kattowitz, UPPER SILESIA, - JAN 4, 2018
The nose is sweet, chocolate, caramel, but also some roasted sunflower, like in BIPA.
Taste is sweet chocolate with a bit bitter aftertaste. There's some roasted malts sourness too.
Beer is very oily, especially when consider the fact, that it's only porter 6,5%! Head is nice, pours creamy, brown, later it disappears a bit, but it's nice anyway. Carbonation is low. Great porter.
