A creamy texture, a nice Black color, with creamy white head.
This is really a nice porter. It has notes of chocolate and roasted malt, weak notes of coffee, but nothing that controls the beer, which is really nice, to a difference. commonmac (1311) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 30, 2017
Served up in a pint glass at Bulldog NE. One last visit to this place. Commonshawn along for the ride. Black appearance with decent lacing and a good frothy tan head. Nose is roasty and nutty with a healthy coffee component. Taste is pretty much a standard porter with above average mouthfeel (creamy and full bodied). Roasty malts run the show but the hop impact is felt towards the end... kind of a black IPA finish without heavy bitterness. Chocolate and coffee characteristics as you would expect. Overall a very solid porter. malvrich (341) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - SEP 23, 2017
3 week old bottle > tulip
A: Pours pitch black like dirty motor oil and flat looking but does form a big brown head that retains for a few minutes and laces in sheets.
S: Dark chocolate and piney hops. A little cocoa powder and roast.
T: Sweet and chocolatey at first, followed by bitter and fruity hop notes and light roast grains that linger a bit. Ends somewhat dry and powdery.
M: Medium body with low level of smooth fine beaded carbonation. Slightly sticky finish.
O: Very nice even if not a favorite style. This is about as dark and strong as I have need for. Highly recommended. higgsbison (261) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 21, 2017
Very creamy and smooth. Full-bodied and Rich. chocolate, Carmel and black coffee notes. Good cold as well as warm. A nice hop balance particularly in the finish
This is a highly rated Porter. I should give it a second tasting

Great beer for trying the first time. A little bitter with the after taste. Beautiful dark color light tan head.
