Bottle. The pour was a pitch black with a slight ruby hue and an average sized (1-2 finger) medium brown creamy head that totally lasted throughout and produced excellent streaks of lacing.
The aroma was of a roasted chocolate malts and a mildly sweet leathery yeast with notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, a bit of caramel and a touch of dark fruit.
The taste was lightly sweet with a hint of chocolate and some dark fruit in the beginning and finished a nice bitter sweet with a healthy dose of coffee and a mild caramel sweetness at the end. The flavor lasted an average amount of time proceeding the swallow, with a mild bitter sweet coffee taste that was left to linger.
Mouthfeel was just about full in body and absolutely creamy in texture with a soft carbonation.
Overall an outstanding Porter. Not to surprising though, seems everything this brewer puts out is just incredible.
Geile Optik, derbe Perlung bringt Cremeschaum, der weiter und weiter wächst. In der Nase süßes Röstmalz, im Trunk süffig malzig, röstig, leichte Espressonoten. Hinten bitter. Langer Abgang. Ich natejgood (528) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - NOV 22, 2017
Pours rich dark brown. The head stays relatively low but it doesn't go anywhere quickly. Smells of dart overripe fruit and chocolate. Flavor of bitter baking chocolate and coffee. Nice that it isn't overly sweet at all. Creamy in the mouth. SDalkoholic (2431) - Linda Vista, California, USA - NOV 21, 2017
Bottle from GO: Poured a dark and opaque brown liquid with a thick foamy head. Aroma is rich and robust with dark roasted malts that give off scents of cocoa powder, chocolate milk, and a hint of coffee. The flavor is bitter and almost tart with roasted black malts and a pinch of lactic taste or half and half. Rich porter that will leave a lasting impression on me from Founder's. Good stuff. Appears from a draft pour a very dark brown and a one finger medium brown head that laces the sides of the pint glass it is presented in. Aroma is mild, yet taste is good and well balanced. This is pretty much a benchmark porter. Its medium in body, moderately roasted, and has brown sugar and light coffee flavors. Deelgee (9) - - NOV 12, 2017 does not count
