COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not another boring summer wheat beer or lemonade shandy—Rübæus is Founders’ way to celebrate the season’s warmest months. Optimizing the flavor of fresh raspberries added at multiple stages during fermentation, this stunning berry red masterpiece is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. No question about it, with a hefty malt bill and 5.7% ABV, this beer is 100% Founders.

This beer is great for the senses. Aroma lets you know exactly what you can expect at first taste. This is a clean beer that I would associated more as a desert beer.

Aroma: Nice semi-sweet raspberry aroma that also carries a suggestion of dark chocolate; somehow mint also comes to mind. Appearance: Dark, vibrant red with a bubbly light pink head. Flavor: Delicious. Semi-sweet raspberry leaves just a little tartness lingering on the tongue; malts seem to be on the caramel/chocolate side. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, long finish. Overall: A fruit beer with a chuggable quality, yet with enough complexity to satisfy the connoisseur. Top notch in almost every respect, and worth several return trips.

Raspberry aroma was evident as soon as the bottle was opened. Dark cherry red with a little pink head. Flavor is a mouthful of raspberries. More sweet than tart with a little bitterness on the finish. Great fruit beer.

Extra in a trade from ygtbsm94. Thanks! Pours red like cranberry juice. Very little pinkish head. Scent and taste are all raspberry. Nice and natural, a little on the sweet side.

big fruit aroma, citrus, passion fruit, raspberries. hazy deep red color. big raspberry flavor. raspberry flavor dominates throughout. sweet. a creamy quality to the flavor/body. a little sweet for me, though you can get a little malt under the fruit.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy darkish red with a light pink one finger head. Really no lacing and just the slightest bit of head retention. Aroma is full of hearty raspberry along with some grass and hay. Quite sweet taste with raspberries. A little too sweet but it doesn’t really seem artificial which is nice. Very little bitterness with a sticky mouthfeel. Oddly not real refreshing due to the sweetness. Overall, one of my least favorite beers from Founders. Decent flavor but too sweet to really enjoy.

Pours purple and red with a pinkish head. Aroma is berry and sweet malt. Flavor is as advertised. Lots of sweet and tart raspberries. Sweet malt and a little bitterness in the finish.
