Tap @ Founders: Mostly black pour with khaki sheet covering the top that forms a small collar at the edges eventually. Aroma is very, very mild, making it hard to pick out specific elements. Roasted grains, some roasted barley, perhaps a hint of rye? Not much going on. Taste has lots of spicy rye notes, toasted barley & grains, mild cola, & a hint of grassy hops floating about. Draft at Founders. Poured black with a slight tan head. Nose was light with a bit of coffee and coco. Taste of light rye mixes with the coffee and coco and lingers for a bit. Really nice beer. magsinva (1250) - Virginia, USA - NOV 24, 2013
Tap at the brewery - it’s cola with a dark chocolate head. Has a nice toastiness. Very dry. I mean very dry. I do get some of the rye, but it’s understated. Not a rye bomb, so to speak.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2013 100th beer rated, it has to be a Founders, at the taproom. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, picking up the rye. Appearance is a reddish-dark brown, looks nice. Taste is coffee forward, getting the rye. Mouthfeel is perfect, soft carbonation, creamy. Overall, this is a fine brew, and I am very happy to have made my 100th beer a Founders.
