COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This bold, imperial brown ale gets its body from a team of malts including Caramel malt for sweetness, flaked barley for dense foam, a bit of Chocolate malt for its deep color and Aromatic and Munich malts to add even more depth. German and Perle hops add a touch of bitterness to balance the malty sweetness. The addition of rich Sumatra coffee takes this perfectly balanced imperial brown ale to a decadent level.

Bottle, 33 cl, The Bishop’s Arms, Uppsala. Initially strong coffee features, but eventually well balanced, porter like.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2017 Thx to Dave. Opaque pour on a foamy head. Well balanced of course, and tastes like a jazzed up version of their porter, which is rightly the top rated widely available porter in the world. The recipe must be a little different though because, despite how easy this goes down, it checks in at a dangerous 9 %. Another fine release from the super reliable crew in Grand Rapids.

Pours a deep deep dark mahogany. Aroma of coffee. Sweet up front with a dark coffee note accented by slight bitterness from the earthy hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap via nitro. Dark brown pour with creamy tan head. Nice big coffee and chocolate nose. Flavor has more on the chocolate end, but good coffee finish. Outstanding!

Kolor: Miedziany z licznymi rubinowymi refleksami. Piękny!
Piana: Ciemno kremowa, umiarkowana zbudowana z drobnych drobinek.
Wyraźnie palony charakter z delikatną nutką gorzkiej czekolady i karmelu w tle.
Smak: W smaku intensywna kawa, mocne, aromatyczne double espresso. Ogrom nut palonego ziarna, lekkie kakao, gorzka czekolada, orzechy laskowe i dużo karmelu.
Świetna tekstura i przyjemne odczucie w ustach. Udane piwo.

Bottle. Dark brown with white foam. Taste and aroma is coffe, chocolate, dark malts and roasted. A bitter lasting ending. Feels a bit unread so 2 years in the cellar and this will proboably be much bether.

Dark brown color, creamy beige head. The aroma Is earthy, peppers, light coffee, cardboard. Lean body, moderate residual sweetness, dark caramel flavor, mild earthy character with traces of liquorice and coffee.
Dirty concept.

Bottle from Maruho. Pours a deep brown with mahogany highlights, thick beige head, nice lacing. Plenty of coffee up front, chocolate, caramel, roasty malt. One of the nicer coffee flavours I can recall having in a beer, very dominant rich bold roast which imparts a bit of milk or vanilla against the caramel in the base beer, some toffee. Very smooth feel with a tightrope balance between sweet and dry richness and bitterness, and somehow ridiculously easy to drink. Well done.

Small bottle from Elizabeth Station at Alex’s. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is a sweet coffee with some roasted malt and grainy notes. Taste is similar with fruity notes. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is mostly of chocolate malt. Mostly sweet flavor with a lot of chocolate presence. Medium bodied with lingering sweet finish. Good, if a bit overly sweet.
