3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2004 harvest celebration...another decent beer brewed at my fav. microbrew...cloudy yellow appearance(similar to squeezed yellow grapefruit juice)...honey aroma, with the same flavor; nice palate; a very different style for me, but i was quite pleased

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Founders for their 2004 Harvest Celebration. I missed this in its first go-round this summer, but Summer Braggot reappeared for this gathering of beer fans. This was possibly a new batch as the ABV was listed as 9.1%. Poured an unusually hazy yellow (almost tan) with a medium off-white head. Sweet honey aroma led to...you guessed it...a nectary, floral honey flavor with hints of alcohol following each sip. Pretty solid mead but lacking the unusual yeast characteristics that often define interesting meads.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Musty socks aroma. Sweet, maybe a little too much so. Unbalanced. It needs a crispness to balance it out. Too sweet for me.
