Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of spices as well as a light dusty hop note. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of dusty hops as well as light notes of fruit. The alcohol burns slightly in the throat. Somewhat boring. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - NOV 19, 2007
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Skyview. Clear, amber golden with an off-white head. Lightly caramellish aroma with a whiff of flowers. Light in body again a lightly sweet touch of caramel and a floral edge. Almost no bitterness. 171107 fiulijn (21516) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 27, 2007
Hazy golden color. Some caramel and fruity aroma. Some caramel flavor. Very simple beer. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 31, 2007
Thanks to Skyview for the bottle! Poured a bright sunburst golden with a short cap of white head and streams of rising carbonation. Aroma picked up sweet grainy notes and corn with perhaps some floral accents. Flavor found caramel and sweet corn at the base with a mild dusting of floral bitterness surrounding.. some corn syrup sticking around through the finish. Very clean and crisp on the palate and lighter-bodied. This was a decent-drinking lager, but the story was certainly more interesting. JK (6342) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - MAY 7, 2007
Thanks to Skyview for sharing a bottle. A dark gold color. Surprisingly clean, I expected something a little rougher with more character. This is a decent lager but just a touch of extra malt. Some corn in the flavor, a little malt. Very clean and it seems filtered as well. I wonder if this is really what beer was like 70 years ago. Thanks Bob.

Amber color with a somewhat fluffy off-white head.Mild grainy aromas with hints of fresh cut flowers and mild corn. Flavors of light caramel, mild toasted malt, bits of grain and corn and a backdrop of light fruit. Dry malt finish with only a hit of bitterness. Nice historical brew. Stopped at the Monarch Tavern in Fountain City during Wisconsin Trip #3. The tavern has this beer both on tap and in 12-oz bottles. Pours a clear golden amber with a white head that dissolves fast and leaves behind a fine white film coating. Very good lacing on glass side. Aroma is sweet, light malt with a touch of sweet corn. Good balance of malt and hops. Taste has a medium body with a smooth carbonation. Thought this is listed as a "Premium Lager" category, this is more of an American Lager. This is one of the better American Lagers I’ve tried. Note of interest, this beer will be brewed by Viking Brewing in Dallas soon. Anxious to try the Viking version. Bottle. A amber beer with a white head. Light caramel malt, hop aroma and a light sweet caramel malt, floral hop taste. Medium body with a light dry finish. muzzlehatch (4975) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 15, 2005
Draught sample at Fountain City Brewing Co. in Fountain City, WI. Clear amber-gold with a decent touch of head remaining...light sweet malty nose, seems to carry a bit of corn sugar...smooth, clean malty body, touch of hops late, fairly dry finish...just to bit too watery at the end to be really good. Interesting story and sense that it might be a different kind of beer than commonly found. Rich golden color, average head. Subtle grape and cat litter flavor. Dry, with a nice hop touch. Overall, more subtle than many standard lagers today. Interesting.
