2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
This beer was off from the beginning. Highly carbonated with a head that just kept rising. I got a lot of yeast in the flavor and it seemed to dominate the body.
Draft. Deep amber/red body. Short, off-white head. Aroma of toasted grain, sweet malt, straw. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture that is sticky in the finish, lively carbonation. Bready, grainy flavor. rumproasts (5544) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JUL 4, 2013
bottle. these idiots clearly have some bottling issues. i’ve had the misfortune of having 3 of their beers and they’ve each been bottle fountains. thankfully this was the last one in my fridge, and i’m not stupid enough to ever buy another Four Horsemen beer.
this was about 20:1 foam to beer. the two ounces left in my glass after it all settled out were near mahogany, and the taste did not impress. if this was homebrew, I’d advise the brewer to find a new hobby. I do not understand how this brewery ever came to be, but they won’t be around long with shitty beers like this. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - APR 22, 2013
Bottle. Rich copper color, clear, tall thick head. Sweet maltiness with some off tones on the taste. Creamy. Overall not bad. valpoaj (745) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Bottle pour - absolute gusher to the point I’m surprised this one didn’t explode before opening...reading all the reviews over the past 6 months about low carbonation/flat and this one bucked that trend. Deep garnet hue with a thick light tan head that actually recedes quite quickly as I had to pour some of it off. Aroma is kind of odd...very sweet malt in the background, but that is covered up by something sort of dirty - not particularly enjoyable. Flavor is not particularly good either...sweet hits up front, but turns bitter with some coffee (?) notes and just ends in a complete mess. Palate seems fine, but the general taste of this beer is just bad - I probably should revisit since I might have had a bad bottle, but I’m thinking that bottle will have to be free for me to try again...bleh

Overly sweet irish ale with a reddish appearance and very little head. Not much in the way of carbonation with an oily mouthfeel. Not all bad though. Its fairly bready and easily drinkable. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 14, 2012
Clear red-brown with faint, beige head / Nose of sour malt, cocoa, and toast / Light to medium body, low carbonation, dry and smooth, good balance and finish / Flavors of cocoa, sour malt, toast, and cream / A pleasant ale, with little fruit but a lot of cocoa. Six pack from Off The Clock in Lakeville, Indiana. Pour from a 12oz bottle. Deep red / brown ale, clear glowering red when held up to the sun. Virtually no head but maintains a thin ring of froth around the glass as it goes down. Aroma of toasted malt, sweet malt, some light grassy hops. Taste is blend of malt sweetness, toasted malt vering on coffee, a little sour hops in the finsih that does not slack the sweetness. Leaves a sticky sweet taste in the mouth. screigh (749) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 4, 2012
Pours a brown with a hint of red. Zero head. This beer is almost completely flat. Aroma is very sweet. Taste a bit like soap mixed with pop. Super sweet and zero carbonation. patrick767 (4095) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 28, 2012
tap (Dash In Jan 18, 2012) - Pours amber with almost no head. the aroma is mild toasted caramel malt. It has a sweet flavor with lightly toasted caramel, a hint of hops bitterness, a medium body, and a high carbonation level. There’s some slight bitterness in the toasted finish. Decent.
