Bottle from Whole Food in Folsom, CA. Pours dark copper with a foamy beige head. Aroma is roast malt, nutmeg and vanilla. Near med body. Flavor is all the xmas spices claimed, and the bite might be zest. There’s a lot of flavor complexity in this beer, and it’s good for the season. "A decent winter warmer from this Novato based company being brewed out of Rochester, NY. Dark amber brown...aroma and flavor leaning towards sweet malt with some citrusy hops and spices as well. Average beer, but hits the spot."

Bottle. Clear, medium coppery amber, average eggshell head. Aroma is pretty weak, caramel and grains. Weak simple caramel profile, boxboard note in the finish. Where’s the spice? radagast83 (8301) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - JUN 7, 2012
12 oz bottle. Dark copper color with a thin head. Aroma is toasted malts, brown sugar, toffee, spice notes. Flavor was just the same. Pretty sweet, slightly artificial tasting but decent enough I suppose, especially for the price point. PorterPounder (8226) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 31, 2011
Orlando, Fl - Whole Foods - 12 oz bottle. Medium copper pour - little to no head. Neutral aroma - hint of toffee if you try really hard. Flavor is very mellow, some hints of muddled spiciness. Perhaps a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon. Just a touch of citrus bitterness. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Don’t bother writing home about this one - just keep it to yourself. Ernest (7787) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 28, 2012
Head is initially small, frothy, off white, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel), with notes of allspice, gum, green beans, plastic, bile.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
I’m not really a big fan of the vegetable, plastic, and vomit spicing. Patrickctenchi (6690) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - NOV 30, 2012
Pours clear, copper-red with a huge, light tan head.
Nose is caramel malt.
Taste is woody....bread...caramel.
Watery feel...plasticky notes..bland spicing.
It had promise....then it began to taste like it was shaken up in a sports bottle....blaah.
