COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Hop Knot IPA is made only from American malt and lots of American hops, which produce a big, broad-shouldered, hoppy beer backed up by a character as warm as, well, Mom and apple pie… Hop Knot IPA get its peculiar name from the weaving of four different hops added at four separate times during the brewing process. Including our cavernous hop-back, which gets so stuffed with whole leaf hops that we feel genuine guilt for its excess. Hop Knot is an ale that is to be enjoyed with friends, spicy food or any time you need a good hop fix without the harsh bitterness. We hope you enjoy this pioneering beer made in the bold spirit of Americans everywhere.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2010 Sample from draft. Best beer (of 8) we tried that day. Golden color, scant head and lacing. Decent hoppy bitterness. Medium body. Drinkable. 3.0 Second tasting was at the Main Ingredient, and was slightly more tasty than I remember it, with a nicer aroma.

On tap at Four Peaks in Tempe, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out a touch of diacetyl, along with piney hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is better, with piney hops, some citrus and biscuity malt. Lacking character and oomph. It’s inoffensive but decently made.

Can. A clear, golden beer with a small, white head. A bit flour like on the nose, mostly fruity, citrusy and piney, and with some maltyness in the back. Nice bitterness in the flavor, backed up by a lightly sweetish maltyness, and with piney, resiny hop flavors. Full-bodied, semi-dry and pleasantly carbonated. Mostly bitter finish, with some resiny, fruity notes. A quite pleasant one, easy drinkable and sufficiently tasteful. 120817
