This is an ale made in the tradition of the great strong ales of Scotland. Amber colored, malty sweet with underlying note of smokiness.

Btl pours clear amber color with off white thin head, vanished quickly. No lacing on glass. Smell of sweet toffee, roasted malts, plums and raisins, very faint hint of smoke and light floral, earthy hops. Tastes of sweet caramel, toasted malts, hints of prunes and dates, very light herbal hops. Medium body with syrupy texture almost flat carbonation and extremely faint, bitter finish. IDK if this beer is old, no date on bottle. It just seems unbalanced. To sweet and virtually no hop bitterness. I would like to try this on tap. It has some unusual flavors that are intriguing but it is under carbonated and hop bitterness is non existent.

On tap at one of the airport restaurants in Phoenix. Should have known this was an AB-InBev deal. Tasted of a macro version of a scottish ale. A bit too sweet and malt heavy but drinkable. Alright I guess.

This is the best beer Id had in the 20 years since I got back from serving in Germany. The flavor dances on the tongue and you can have it with just about any meal. I absolutely love this beer, but unfortunately I dont live in Arizona anymore and cant find it in Oklahoma.

Sampled on draught . Brown colour with a thin cream-coloured head. Sweet, with lots of caramel in the taste and not very much bitterness. Low carbonation. A little bland.

Can, brought back from Arizona by Lalitha. Amber pour, quite clear, white head. Sweet and malty affair, caramel, light bitterness. Perfectly acceptable ale, pleasant to drink. Quite why it needs to be 6% given this flavour profile I have no idea. Would be very happy drinking a few of these at 4.5-5%, or having something with a bit more malty ooomph at 6% plus; this falls between the two and so asks the question of why it needs to exist. On the plus side it did allow me to tick off the elusive Scottish Ale category with a beer from the freezing, windswept lochs of Arizona that had roughly the same profile as everything Ive had in the Scotch Ale category but very little Ive had in Scotland. So thats that.

Malty aroma of figs, cherries, and sticky toffee. Flavors of dates, plums, toffee, and toasted bread. Not complex but easy drinking and goes down smooth.

Aroma is malty and sweet, very clear pour with minimal head and good lacing. Taste is very comfortable, not too sweet but the right amount of under attenuation expected. Very drinkable as a table beer.

Nothing much to write about here. This beer is so bland my brain cant decipher the muddled flavors. Below average in every category.

Poured from 12 oz can with brother Bryan, great carmel flavor. Low carbonation as expected. Light clear sepia. Smooth, solid rye flavor with not the metallic or that some Scottish ales have. 9.0 bd, 8.5 bry

Sweet. Flat. Boring. Nice caramel smell and pretty copper color is all this beer has going for it. 6% is not enough to lift a kilt
