This is an ale made in the tradition of the great strong ales of Scotland. Amber colored, malty sweet with underlying note of smokiness.

A beer by any other name! Well what can I say? Oh! Pretty much ordinary here. A fair amount of ETOH in this one but still pretty drinkable as an every day berw. Needs more hops for me, but then I might be a bit of a hop head.

This beer is far too thin and low on body for a scottish ale at 6%. Not a lot of "scotch" taste to it either. However, it is cleanly made. Taste & tap SD.

wombat23 (1362) - Texas, USA - APR 1, 2017
Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours amber with a small off-white head. Malty aroma. Taste is malt, caramel, spice, yeast, some fruitiness. Really kind of a mess - flavors all over the place. Flavor is not particularly pleasant. Did not finish.

darbeer75 (887) - Round Rock, Texas, USA - MAR 30, 2017
Aroma: cloyingly sweet, like orange candy; Appearance: muddy amber pour with thin white head that dissipates quickly; Taste: follows nose, unfortunately; Palate: heavy body with long, sweet finish; Overall: not good.

sonnycheeba (5970) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 24, 2017
Tap. Pours mostly clear dark copper. Aroma is very faint with some caramel and bready malts, light toast, and leather. Flavor is bland and malty with lots of caramel sweetness and faint dark fruit notes. Medium/full body.

snoworsummer (5624) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 24, 2017
Draft. Pours clear amber brown with a very thin head. Tastes like nutty malt, toast, light booze, toffee, and wood. Light/medium body and carbonation. Faint aroma of toasted malt and toffee.

phranq (179) - - MAR 10, 2017
22 oz from the PHX airport. Brown pour with white head. Roasty malt. Well balanced finish.

BroSpud (2165) - , Massachusetts, USA - FEB 14, 2017
On tap at one of the airport restaurants in Phoenix. Should have known this was an AB-InBev deal. Tasted of a macro version of a scottish ale. A bit too sweet and malt heavy but drinkable. Alright I guess.
