This is an ale made in the tradition of the great strong ales of Scotland. Amber colored, malty sweet with underlying note of smokiness.

Deep amber color, clear. Sweet and smoky flavor. Enjoyed this from a can while in Scottsdale within sight of the four peaks for which the brewery is named. F Avey---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can 12fl.oz. @home poured into a thissle glass. Clear medium amber, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing; aroma roasted malts, sugar syrup, dark fruits, caramel, hopjes; taste ligth heavy sweet and light bitter, malty, toffee; malty sweetbitter aftertaste, burnt caramel, fruity touch; medium body, oily to watery texture, average carbonation; quite satisfying despite some wateriness, very nice.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2018 Minimal nose. Some mild caramel and brown sugar comes through. Decent malt backbone.

12/17/17: $13 Pint purchased by my brother at T Mobile arena for Las Vegas Knights vs. Florida Panthers game. Brown pour into plastic stadium cup, light head, barley and chocolate aroma. Mild taste similar to aroma, very light mouth feel, easy drinking. Overall OK offering.

Not a great ale, not like a typical brown ale. For an ale, it has odd bock or dunkel notes which I'm not a huge fan of. Not a great beer and I probably won't get it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft @ Charleston's. Crystal clear reddish amber with a dissapating off white head. Malt forward, fig, light hops touch with toffee and sweet caramel notes Crisp carbonation, slightly bitter finish. Not bad.

30-11-2017; can; at home (bought at Saveur Bière, as part of their November 2017 discovery box). The looks of the beer are fine. The beer has a nice color, that is something between golden and copper. The beer has a lovely bright glow. It is crystal clear. On top of the beer some nice almond coloured foam is formed. Foam retention is low though. The smell is fine. It isn't the worlds strongest smelling beer, nor is it to special. It is nice though. There are some sweet malts, with a touch of caramel in it. There are some sweet fruity touches to. I smell some plum and raisin, but both very sweet. There are some floral hop touches...that aren't to strong. Mainly malty. The taste is the same. It is mainly sweet and has a lot of sweet malts. The malts give a slight caramel touch and some sweet fruit touches. Hops give some floral touches, and some bitterness. In the end of the flavour some peaty smokiness is there, that gives a nice touch. It just gives the balance for the heavy sweetness. The palate of the beer is fine. Medium body, minimally sticky texture and medium high carbonation. The finish of the beer is avarage of length and quality. It contains just some sweet malts, some bitter hops and a caramel touch. All in all, a good beer, but not extremely good nor special. Way above average though.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2017 Thick tan head but short lived. The body is amber, clear and bubbly. It smells sweet and spicy. It tastes sweet and smokey. It's really good easily one of the best beers I've had yet. Found at the AM PM near my job.
