3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Enjoyed a few of these on draft outside at Casey Moore’s this week with friends drinking the same; it’s the season. As porters go this is decent; pumpkin flavor and aroma are understated. I’d have this again, though I don’t think they have bottles, so you have to track it down. I recently had the pumpkin porter from Grand Canyon (another local Arizona brewery) and liked it a lot more; Shipyard’s Smashed Pumpkin ale (not a porter) is also quite good. (10/25/12)
Can pours a clear brown color with amber highlights. Off white head that vanished with a blink of an eye, no lace in sight. Aromas of clove, ginger, black licorice, cooked brown sugar and minerals. Tastes of traditional pumpkin pie spices as stated above with ginger and RC cola, with just a hint of toasted bread and the minerals again. Light to medium body, tingly carbonation, watery mouthfeel and a spicy cola like finish. Overall the spices are subtle but the body of this beer is weak. It’s easy to drink because it’s not to heavy or cloying but nothing special. Average fall beer. I should have cut and pasted wedgie9’s rating below because he/she nailed it! Would’ve saved myself 10 minutes of my life. Of course that would be plagiarism! Lol!!! BillKismet (4165) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 13, 2016
Cola appearance with a browned caramel head. Dusty allspice and ginger dominate the nose. The body is of moderate pumpkin, allspice, ginger, and perhaps some other traditional spices. Solid. wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 28, 2016
Tasted on 9/27/16 from a 12oz can purchased at Sun Devil. Pours dark, but clear deep brown with a thick, fizzy beige head that quickly recedes to nothing at all. The nose is some light cinnamon bread with just a hint of roast. The flavor is almost like a cinnamon cola with just a light hint of bitterness. The body is light and watery with fizzy carbonation, and a medium lightly bitter and spiced finish. MarcoDL (5472) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 24, 2015
Draft at South Rims. Aroma of pumpkin and mildly roasted malt. Flavor of sweet pumpkin, cherry and soft caramel. Nice. luchadore (14) - - OCT 20, 2015
Ah yes. Fall in the desert!! Doesn't leave much to turning leaves and colder nights, but it does bring out this delicious seasonal brew! Used to be only available on premises and during the month of October. Now available in cans, year round... It still screams fall to me!
Well balanced. Refreshing for a porter. Great aroma without being over burdened with spices. Clean finish and not bitter.

On tap with lunch at Cornish Pasty Co. Dark brown pour with just a slight head. Well made porter, hitting all the right notes with the pumpkin being subtle, which I really appreciated. eeblah (106) - Arizona, USA - SEP 29, 2015
Canned beer that is more widely available now. Nice dark color, smell of pumpkin spice, malty goodness but not too sweet. Nice pumpkin flavor in a porter style that is not heavily roasted. Great beer for the fall. snoworsummer (6273) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 28, 2015
Draft in Cave Creek. Pours cola brown with a fizzy off white head. Tastes like dry roasted pumpkin, cinnamon, light sugary sweetness, toasted malt. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet roasted pumpkin, roasted malt, light cinnamon, and light vegetable. jbruner (5463) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - JAN 1, 2015
Pours a translucent brownish black from the can with fluffy off-white head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of pumpkin pie spice over soy and slight roast. Taste is more toward the spice, just a hint of English yeast and roast. Thin and watery, bit not bat otherwise. Reimer96 (1778) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 30, 2014
Pours an opaque black with a frothy, creamy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, pumpkin, nutmeg and cinnamon all in a nice big floral delicate balance. Taste semi sweet chocolate, light roasted, light pumpkin, some nutmeg and some cloves... Spices and pumpkin are definitely subtle and low but however so are the malts in the base... Needs more roast quality and some touch of cocoa and bitterness.
