COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A true English Indian Pale Ale. Our Raj IPA is created with a medium body and finishes dry and bitter – possibly even more so than your Uncle Sal after you broke his window when you were eleven. Our English IPA has an intense hop flavor and high hop bitterness. The lofty hop level was originally required so the ale would stay preserved and survive the voyage around Africa during the English occupation of India in the 18th century.

Flight taster at the Four Peaks brewery in Tempe, Arizona Sight: Amber, medium foam, hazy Smell: not a lot of aroma compared to other IPAs taste: medium bitterness, sweet Mouth feel: medium carbonation, long follow through, good long finish, sweet aftertaste Overall: very good beer ok to repeat, but not to look for

Tap at the airport restaurant. The look is clear, off white head, and golden to bronze in color. The smell is malty, caramel, some fruit, toast, ok. The taste is similar long bread finish.

On tap at Four Peaks in Tempe, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out earthy hops, some toasted caramel and bready malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready English malt and earthy, floral hops. Unexciting but clean and decently brewed. Okay.

Draft sample at the source from notes. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale toasted malts, caramel, floral hops, citrus and a hint of resin, pretty straightforward, moderate bitterness, dry, decent.

Hop grass and citrus aroma. Flavor of some kind of hemp and hop bitterness. Slightly sweet on finish overall nice balance.

Meh. As English IPAs go, about average, with too much malt and spicy hops that don’t really add anything to the beer.

I have screwed up on availability...been putting Phoenix I am actually at the Tempe one. This is an awesome English IPA, earthy more noble the hop character, real bitter in an awesome way....great malt backbone but not heavy...nice carbonation to bring out nice hops.

Draft at the source. Golden body, mostly clear, small white collar. Lasting retention with ample lacing. Earthy hops with mild bitterness. Medium bodied and even a bit syrupy. Overall bland and unexciting for an IPA.
