COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A true English Indian Pale Ale. Our Raj IPA is created with a medium body and finishes dry and bitter – possibly even more so than your Uncle Sal after you broke his window when you were eleven. Our English IPA has an intense hop flavor and high hop bitterness. The lofty hop level was originally required so the ale would stay preserved and survive the voyage around Africa during the English occupation of India in the 18th century.

Sample tray at Scottsdale location. I think they water everything down here. Deep amber color, lacing around the edge. Lemon aroma. Initially tastes of lemon dish soap, apricot, and bread. Sticky, full, with bitter aftertaste. Not bad, nothing to write home about.

Pours a clear orangish amber with a very small white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet pale malts, toffee, grass and earthy hops. Taste is caramel, toffee malt richness with earthy hops, grass and light floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish and nice crisp bitterness throughout... Great English ipa!

Tasted on 5/14/13 on draft at the brewpub. Pours clear burnt orange with an average off-white head that leaves average lace. The nose is floral hops with some citrus and a nice bread malt backbone, nothing out of the ordinary. The flavor is a touch of bready sweetness up front, moving to all of the bitter citrus peel and primarily floral hops. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long floral and nicely bitter hops finish.

On tap at brewery in Tempe. Nice example of English IPA....earthy hops almost pine root like. Subtle in aroma but nice. Flavor of crisp bitterness with a fruity ester sense. Good with their food.
