COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A true English Indian Pale Ale. Our Raj IPA is created with a medium body and finishes dry and bitter possibly even more so than your Uncle Sal after you broke his window when you were eleven. Our English IPA has an intense hop flavor and high hop bitterness. The lofty hop level was originally required so the ale would stay preserved and survive the voyage around Africa during the English occupation of India in the 18th century.

Sample from draft. Caramel color, caramel aroma. Bland, thin flavor. Scant hops. Unremarkable.

Not the measure of perfection that the Hop Knot is, but Raj has been a Four Peaks Staple for years now. Any IPA lover should give this a try. Dark amber with a medium white head. Pine and Caramel notes with an IPAs resin aftertase.

On tap; poured a clear orange amber color. Aroma of citrus, orange, caramel and yeast. Flavor was very earthy and citrus; quite good. Lingers. Very nice.

(on tap at Scottsdale location). Copper liquid with small white head. Aromas of toasted nuts and citrus. Dominant bitterness but nicely balanced by underlying sweetness. Long bitter finish. A good, solid IPA.

Barely any nose, beautful dark golden color of a rich IPA. Fails to deliver on the palette. Seems a tad hot and disjointed. Used to think this good but not so much anymore. Not sure if its my changing tastes or a changed recipe. Either way not my fave anymore at the brew pub.

Draft sample. Poured clear copper color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate resin hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth bitter flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. This beer also met my expectations.

Medium yellow with lots of lace. Some hop aroma. Enjoyed at Scottsdale location, brewed of course at Tempe. The bitterness did not work for me, it was not too drinkable.

In tap at 4 peaks Scottsdale(cask version). Pours an orangish color with a small, creamy white head. Floral hops, mango and some caramel in the nose. Flavor has tropical fruit, bitterness from what taste like floral hops and light caramel. Ok brew.

(Draught) Pours a clear amber body with a medium white head. Aroma of orange, caramel, some pine, and delicate floral notes. Flavor of caramel malt and hops (grass, florals, citrus) with a moderately bitter finish.

Draught at the brewpub
Light amber color; creamy head. Simple aroma, light but nice hops. Creamy and smooth body, some malt and toffee flavor, but quite buttery, diacetyl. Correct bitterness, lightly citrusy. Not bad, but I prefer the American IPA to this English IPA
