A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, beautiful sweet chocolate malt with loads of bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, alcohol warmth, grassy hops, light vanilla, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with nice bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice and complex. On tap at Taste of Tops. mcberko (17840) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 23, 2016
On tap at Four Peaks in Tempe, pours black with a small tan / brown head. Aroma is huge, with harsh alcohol, loads of bourbon, and roast. Flavour is hugely barrel-heavy and boozy, with tons of roast, bourbon and alcohol. Hard to remember when I had a BA impie this boozy and harsh. It’s quite tasty for what it is - but I couldn’t drink much. Solid brutal beer. phaleslu (10266) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 31, 2014
Draft in a taster at the Wilson Taproom. Pours a deep brown color with a small beige head and amber highlights around the edges. Aroma of toasted sugar, caramel, oak, leaves, and nuts. Flavor of vanilla, molasses, oak, brown sugar, chocolate, and caramel. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty, sticky mouthfeel. Good barrel-aged imperial stout but didn’t live up to what I’d heard beforehand. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - FEB 17, 2014
Pours up at AZ Strong Ale Fest 2014 with a deep dark mahogany colored body that supports a light mocha head of foam. The aroma offers up a nice mix of dark malts and smooth sweet bourbon barrel notes as well as lesser notes of spicy black strap molasses, sweet caramel malts and vanilla. The taste is a rich mix of malts and smooth sweet bourbon barrel and vanilla and malt sweetened oaky goodness. The smooth bourbon gets to be a little more forward to midway and into the finish. Wow, this is smooth and sweet and rich and delicious. Dang, a few more sips and I’m loving the taste of this. JBoan (176) - Arizona, USA - JUL 30, 2013
On tap at the brewery! Pours black with thin tan head. Smells of dark fruit, oak, vanilla and big booze. Fills the mouth with sweet chocolate, oak, vanilla and a little caramel with big booze, roasted malts and coffee are also enjoyed. The best Four Peaks has to offer. Great beer!

Draft at Fate. Pours dark brown with a khaki head. Aroma of fudge, cocoa, bourbon. Taste is sweet with nice barrelling. Flavorful, but not overpowering. Sticky texture. Very drinkable and quite good. MadDogMD (215) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - FEB 19, 2013
2011 vintage at Strong Beer Fest, 2013. Excellent beer! One of the brews that I really wanted to try & it did not disappoint! Poured black w/ minimal head. Nice nose of wood, bourbon, caramel, vanilla, chocolate. Complex tastes of oak, tobacco, dark bitter chocolate, roast malts, and vanilla. Very good! mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - FEB 16, 2013
Sampled at Arizona Strong Beer Fest, 2013. Not overly roasted, but very nice sweetness. Bourbon flavor from barrels. Very good!
