3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I had tried a small sample at the brewery that afternoon, so was happy to get a shaker pint on draft at Bodega in Columbus, Ohio. The pour is a clear golden amber with not much of an off white head. The aroma is citrus fruit, grass, and a nice undertone of grass and mineral. The taste is a fresh cracker malt, along with a light bitter sweetness balanced with grass and grapefruit citrus hop. There is a hint of pine present as well, which adds depth to the flavor. The palate is medium bodied, with crisp carbonation and the mineral dry clean finish. Definitely my kind of beer, very tasty.
12oz can thanks to jsquire katrinaez (2021) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 14, 2017
Pours clear dark golden with a medium sized off-white head, good lacing. Aroma is floral, grapefruit, and citrus. Flavor of grapefruit, grassy and zesty
Good pale ale
Golden color with medium foam, standard aroma of light hops, which matches the taste. Nothing special but drinkable. Tap. drsordr (2662) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - NOV 26, 2016
Can at the OSU game. Color no idea. Nose tropical fruit and light floral. Smells pretty good. Taste light bitter up front. Then slightly watered down hop light bitter finish. PorterPounder (7970) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 27, 2016
Boardman, Oh - Vintage Estate Wine and Beer - 12 oz can. Kind of a dull, medium golden pour, soapy, snow white head, light lacing. Aroma of too much crystal malt, a hint of yet and raw dough. Flavor has some light citrus accents, some dough-like bready accents, a touch of caramel sweetness. Mouthfeel has a decent thickness.

RB says this is my 200th APA, at least for now. Can. Nose very foamy, minerally, fruity, hoppy, probably overcarbed, certainly messy. Orange peel and paper, I would say. Pour a hazy orange with a large soapy off-white head. Taste relatively dry, just a hint of citrus sweetness, medium to high resin, lots of tropical fruit rind, peel, very highly perfumed and somewhat oily. Liking the strong tangerine tones. Very much redeemed itself after the earliest moments. Clean, crisp, very fresh tasting, but still too airy, cleanses the palate very nicely. Medium-full body. [2016.09.05: 3.0]

on tap at the brew pub. Four String Brass Knuckle Pale Ale is a lighter amber clear beer with a firm head of white bubbles. Nose is grapefruit and lighter malt. Taste is a nice bit of grapefruit zest and clover honey. Body is lively and thinner. a very nice APA. alexsdad06 (10434) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 1, 2016
12 oz can at home. Pours a dark golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale toasted malts, a hint of caramel, citrus, grassy, herbal hops, grapefruit, finishes kind of bland, dry, ok but there are many superior options. phaleslu (10271) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 19, 2016
Draft at Nation, served in a pint glass. Pours a clear deepish golden color with a small eggshell white head that settles into a ring. Pale and sweet malt backbone holds together leafy, grassy, citrusy, and slightly spicy hops, with some green and black tea for measure. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tea-like, slightly malty, barely bitter mouthfeel. Not really a ’session ale,’ as they say, because it’s a little too heavy on the palate for that and the ABV is to high. But it’s a good APA nonetheless. rondphoto (4448) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - DEC 23, 2015
can @ Party Town/ Florence KY --- Clear medium orange amber, frothy white 2" head, splashes of lace. Aroma of malt and hops. Taste is a little malt, followed by solid, but pleasing, citrus hops. The hops don’t load up enough to drown the malt, so the finish is somewhat balanced. A nice enough pale ale, but I can see no way to justify it as a session brew (5.75%abv? no way; on top of that, a very full body) drfabulous (7948) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - OCT 6, 2015
12 ounce can. Pours an orange base. Slightly malty. Some citrus. Little bit of fruit. Ok.
