Collaboration between Four Winds and three Ontario breweries: Nickel Brook Brewing, Great Lakes Brewing and Sawdust City Brewing. This farmhouse ale was brewed with wild yeast and wild Ontario hops and then aged in foedres at Four Winds for a slightly tart, funky taste of Canada.

750ml bottle from trade with Sergiy. Aroma: hoppy, peaches, oranges, tangerines, a bit funky. App: cloudy orange / copperish, small to medium white head leaving beautiful lacing. Taste and palate: medium body, lots of peaches in mouth, juicy mouthfeel but with heavy carbonation subtle acidity and bitter finish. Overall: interesting. Really liked the aroma, really really pleasant. I don’t say that often but thought the mouthfeel was too juicy, was lacking a bit of bitterness or acidity to back all this juiciness so felt a bit weird. That being said, it was really easy to drink and could drink this again, just maybe in a different occasion like outside in a party? At breakfast instead of my morning juice?

[9169-20170513] 750mL bottle. Fruity yeasty aroma. Slightly hazy, pale yellow body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Bitter yeasty fruit flavour. Medium body. Good. (7/3/8/4/15) 3.7

2017-05-13. Lightly hazy orange body with a smallish white head that fades. 3+ Aroma is very lightly woody, whisper or funk and alcohol. Flavour has lovely citrus and fruit up front, light wood and funk. 7++ Average plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. Solid, subtle - my notes don’t really do it justice - but lovely overall. 7/3-4/7-8/3/16-17 Bottle shared by wilco.

Bottle (750 ml) at home, split 2-ways. Thanks to Alex for this one! Hazy golden with a medium white head, decent retention, leaving some lacing. Aroma is of apricots, fruity and floral notes, leathery brettanomyces, some herbalness and light funk. Taste is slightly sweet and quite fruity with leathery brettanomyces, some funk, mild earthiness and herbalness as well as toasted malts. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Fruity finish. Alcohol is well integrated. No acidity, just some nice leathery brett on a robust fruity Saison base. Enjoyable.

Draft - Soft stone fruit and some funky sweaty notes. Cloudy gold with a rich white head. Funky fruity notes. Plum, stone fruit and some soured grains. Decent.

Copper with a small white head. Intense apple pie and baby apricot puree aromas with hints of cinnamon. Medium carbonation, intensely sweet and sticky palate, very apple pie and spicy flavors. Way too sweet to enjoy more than a sample. Not badly made, just out of balance to my taste.

Pours a frothy white head atop a hazy yellow body. Very fruity and hoppy. Great flavours and one of the most inspiring beers I’ve had in a long, long while. Awesome collaboration Four Winds et al. Purchased at The Strath for $20.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with moderate head. Aromas of woolly Brett and fuzzy stoned fruit with soft toasted malts. Flavors of same, with a subtle and soft funkiness and a bit of old apples. Superb. Nice carbonation. A cotton candy of Farmhouse ales.

750ml bottle @ Sergiy’s. Pours a dark cloudy straw caramel colour with a thin off-white head. Nose is an interesting mix of sour, funk, and earthy. Flavour is just great, it is all over, light sourness, awesome wild yeast. Curious how this will fair with some time.

Tasting with Alex, Brian and George. 750ml bottle from the High Point. Bottled on 2017-01-31. Taste and aroma earthy and funky, similar to gueuzes, but much more fruity. Really nice stuff.
