COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This lovely oatmeal stout is sweet, easily drinkable and has a refreshing side to it. Compared to most Stouts this is a little lighter than the others. Light on your palate, does not leave a sour or bitter taste on your mouth, one of the best oatmeal stouts available.

The looks are like you can aspect from a stout: pitch black on the eye, a doubtful ruby red glow in the light and a nice creamy layer of soft almond coloured foam. The beer is one of the darkest I’ve sen. The bulk of the foam collapses, to leave a nice thin drape of foam. The smell is quite light. I understand what they mean when they say it’s a ’lighter stout than others’. The milder smell gives the beer a certain delicate touch, instead of weakening the beer. I smell some soft roasted barley aromas, salty caramel, coffee and a far away hint of chocolate. It is in nice balance, very lovely. The taste is also quite great. There is a lovely balance between sweets and bitter. There is a nice roasty bitterness, some chocolate sweetness and even a touch of fresh fruity hoppy bitterness. This sure is a lovely stout, like almost every stout is.

33cl can picked up at the brewery and poured into a snifter on 26-Dec-2016. Dark brown, almost black in colour with a medium sized beige coloured head. Aroma of roasted malt and cocao nibs. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of caramel malt, coffee, chocolate - followed by even more chocolate and a little heat. A nice creamy sessionable stout.
