The looks are like you can aspect from a stout: pitch black on the eye, a doubtful ruby red glow in the light and a nice creamy layer of soft almond coloured foam. The beer is one of the darkest I’ve sen. The bulk of the foam collapses, to leave a nice thin drape of foam.
The smell is quite light. I understand what they mean when they say it’s a ’lighter stout than others’. The milder smell gives the beer a certain delicate touch, instead of weakening the beer. I smell some soft roasted barley aromas, salty caramel, coffee and a far away hint of chocolate. It is in nice balance, very lovely.
The taste is also quite great. There is a lovely balance between sweets and bitter. There is a nice roasty bitterness, some chocolate sweetness and even a touch of fresh fruity hoppy bitterness. This sure is a lovely stout, like almost every stout is. LazyPyro (1606) - Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 30, 2017

On tap at brewery. Stop #1 on Bermondsey beer mile. Pitch black with white head. Toasted oatmeal aroma. Smooth mouth feel. Mild bitterness, smoothing out to toast and coffee. MKibilko (27) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 21, 2016
0.33 can. Really nice almost black colour with light brown head. Altough foam disappeared almost immediately, without leaving any lace. Aroma is not really intensive, but you can feel caramel, chocolate, roasted coffee. Medium sweetness, lightly bitter. Really nice mouthfeel. Long chocolatey finish. Full body, lovely creamy texture, soft to flat carbonation. Decent beer from Fourpure, definetely enjoyed it.
