Slightly sweet, pretty drinkable pale ale, nothing hugely notable but decent enough...

33cl can @Bär Berlin, Oviedo. 13-03-2017.
BBD: 02-07-2017.
In short: average session IPA.
Did i enjoy it: a bit boring.
Pours little hazy dark gold with frothy white head. Long head retention, some good lacing. Citrusy, caramel, malty, bready, peachy nose. Light to medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Taste is some bitter, very fruity, tropical ones, peachy, mango, watermelon. Some watery and a bit stale flavours.

Pours clear and golden. Lots of malt in the nose with a hint of off fruit. Lots of malt flavour with little fruit. Finishes with a small amount of bitterness. Average.

tfredvik (1939) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 23, 2017
Crystal clear, golden body with a small, white, short-lived head. Very strong aroma of peach, mango and other sweet tropical fruits, with some caramel in the back in addition to a spicy touch. Strong flavour that follows the aroma, pluss a bit of citrus. Light sweet taste with a moderate bitter finish. Light and dry on the palate, soft carbonation. A brilliant session beer!
[33 cl can, enjoyed 6 months before BB date, from M&S Paddington, London]

Can at Rose and Thistle, Frimley Green. Vague barnyard aroma. Pale hazy gold. Thin white head. At first I thought it was extremely bubbly. I then realised that these bubbles were static - a case of small floating bits if sediment. Was suspicious at this point and spotted that the can was BB 11/04, so a week or so ago. Gave it a go - light bitter, some salty umami. A hint of citrus but minimal. Light bodied. Watery. Lively carbonation. Dry finish. Was not sure about this, will have to try again as this particular can just seemed past it. Had been in a vibrating fridge for too long perhaps. Anyway, got my £4.40 back. Bar manager wasn’t pleased about the BB date as they’d only had them a short time.

2.3
SilkTork (5725) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2017
330ml can, filtered, from Tesco. This is quite hop forward, with prominent, but not aggressive, use of modern hops. There is a fair degree of tropical fruit in the aroma, though this is somewhat muddled in the beer itself so comes across as tasting like tinned fruit juice. There is little awareness of the malt - it presents as a cheap low abv lager, like a European Fosters or something. It’s drinkable, but a little dirty and grubby. The best thing about this is the aroma.
