355ml bottle. New label, this is a pretty standard oktoberfest, caramel and earthy, okay. arkurzynski (2456) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 9, 2015
Deep orange. Nose of toasted malt and orange. Flavor is biscuity toasted malt and more orange. Light matching hop bitterness. A very solid Oktoberfest. satan165 (1020) - River Grove, Illinois, USA - OCT 22, 2010
aroma is diluted caramel, moreso grainy pils malt then any developed toffee. appearance is nearly still, spotty head, small ring, no lacing, burnished amber, ultra polished. flavor is bizarre sweetness, licorice, coffee liqueur. some cherry, alternate fruits, caramel reveals in time. mouthfeel is lightly slimy, hint of syrupyness JPDIPSO (6261) - Wauwatosa, USA - APR 29, 2009
Bottle ala Bob. Light umber color with a smaller light taupe head. Toasted grain and touch of toffee in the nose. Not a strong and clean scent, more a amber aroma. Tart berries attack the flavors. Seems a popular problem with the bottles for this brewer. Really no were to travel with this one. Unlike the 1853, there is little left to comment on. I shall certainly make it back for a fresh sample. I will say infected bottle is much different than a on old bottle. While this maybe both. An old bottle without infection still will bear a decent signature of the past. Looking at past rates this is not the first time. badgerben (5288) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - OCT 22, 2008
Courtesy of Skyview. Copper color with a small head. Dry grain aroma. Dry caramel and toasted malt taste. A little nuttiness. Finishes a bit like wet cardboard, but not enough to ruin the brew.

Deep copper/amber color with a very nice off white head. Dry taste with a hint off toffee and a mild hop bite. KAF (448) - Coralville, Iowa, USA - OCT 2, 2008
Clear copper pour with no head. Very malty nose. Taste of bread crust, malt and a slight hop profile with a dry finish. JK (6254) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - OCT 1, 2008
I liked this quite a bit. Full malt body, dry, some salt and grain. Sweet for the style, and unusually thick palate. Thanks Skyview. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - AUG 24, 2008
Sneak preview of 2008 vintage at the Oshkosh brewpub location. Pours a semi-clear brownish amber brew with an average off-white head that has some nice retention and spotty lacing. Aroma of bready and roasted multi-grain malt, a touch of toffee and honey. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of roasted semi-sweet multi-grain malt, a hint of yeast and some toffee. Finish is semi-sweet a little grainy with a nice malty aftertaste. It’s a little darker octoberfest than what I am used to but a soild beer overall. prosqtor (408) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 4, 2007
I thought it was pretty good. Only rated a "3" in appearance, but I liked the dark color -- just not right for the type. Good malty flavor, and not at all unpleasant.
