COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is brewed with oatmeal and seven types of malted barley to produce strong coffee and chocolate characteristics and residual sweetness. With the plentiful addition of fine American hops, this becomes a full-bodied, flavorful beer.

Just barely missed on this one. Not sure if it’s a sweet or dry stout, because as it warmed it became much sweeter -- from the tap at the brewpub.

Sampler on tap from the brewpub at the mall in Appleton. Lightly roasty. Coffee. Molasses. Maybe some oatmeal smoothed it down, but it could have been better without that? A bit light. Fairly tasty. 13.3

Deep brown-black pour. Nose of cocoa, roasted malt, faint brown sugar, and mild olice. Flavor is mildly sweet toasted malt with roast, light coffee, and cocoa powder. Dry, mild roast finish. Nice stout.

12oz bottle. Deep amber-brown color, approaching black. Frothy beige head. Sweet, chocolate coffee aroma, pretty pleasant. Actually one of the better Fox River beers I’ve had. Smooth chocolate cocoa tones. I’m sort of flabbergasted that I am enjoying a Fox River product. Good creamy chocolate Stout.

On tap at the Oshkosh brewpub, pours black with an off-white head. Aroma is espresso, with a milky espresso taste. All in all a good stout.

(Draught) Pours a dark brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of roastiness, cocoa, toasted grain, oatmeal, and vanilla. Flavor of toasted grain, roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate with a dry, bitter finish.

Bottle: Dark pour with a strong coffee and burnt aroma. Had an overwhelming burnt flavor with light chocolate. Body was ultra thin. Definitely needs more tweeking for flavor and body.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from the Oshkosh brewery/brewpub location. Pours a dark cola brown brew with a thin tan head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and tan ring. Aroma of dark roasted malt, some coffee and chocolate character with a touch of molasses. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with some thin flavors of dark roasted malt, coffee/chocolate and a touch of citrus. Finish is slightly watery, semi-sweet with a light dark malt aftertaste.
