Draft at the brewpub, even served in a nice weizen glass. Straight outta Munich, this
delivers the requisite banana, clove and yeast. Very well done and smack dab in style. (#3666, 9/13/2009) mikeschuld (58) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - OCT 12, 2011
Creamy head with a good strong fruity aroma. Smooth mouthfeel. Bavarian style fruit and clove characters are very well done and don’t overpower. A little too much hop bitterness at the finish. Cobhlanger (2) - Cork, IRELAND - MAY 5, 2017 does not count
Love wheat beer and glad to have a local Cork one that’s some what widely available, it’s hard enough to find in cans, never seen in bottles and I’ve only had the pleasure of having it on tap once in Cork City. It was good on tap but preferred it in the can jspruit (122) - Dublin, IRELAND - MAR 18, 2007
Had a pint of this at Ginger Man pub in Dublin on St. Patrick’s Day-I have been searching around for this beer and was happy to find it.
Served in a stein with a very small head upon pouring. The color was a nice hazy copper and the smell was great-wheat beer smell with some fruitiness to it.
Tasted great and went down smooth. There is a hint of spice (maybe cardamom?) with a bit of taste of almost banana with the wheat taste-a great combination I felt. Not too strong and something that I could drink a couple more pints of in a session.
I look forward to trying it in Cork, hopefully at the brewery, and maybe bringing back a bottle or two if possible.
