UPDATED: FEB 17, 2009 @ Franciscan Well in Cork: Warm clear reddish amber, short lasting head, weak notes of hops, getting stronger in mouth where malt fruit, and yeast is adding up. Sweet flavour, and lack of finish.

Pours an amber/red colour. Taste is malty with some nice dried fruits, a good example of the style

At a tasting, small stable creamy head, quite clear dark red colour, malty caramel aroma with some barnyard notes, fruity caramel flavour, light to medium strong herbal bitterness. Nice and satisfying.

Good example of an irish red ale. Loads of cream Im the texture and lots of biscuit and red fruit in the beginning and end.

Pours a clear darker shade of amber, light coppery color, topped with a medium sized and not really lasting beige head. Mild malty aroma with caramel and some sicuity notes. Some chalk but not too intrusive. Taste is mildly sweet, malty with some pleasant caramel presence. Gentle and very light. Nice one.

Tasted from the tap several times at the Franciscan Well (Cork). Back on these happy days drinking irish beer and partying with irish people. This one was a Must! Next one please!

A light beer for summer evenings. Aroma: cookies, biscuit, molases, caramel, herbs, grapes, cherry. Appearance: medium, frothy, tan foam, amber, clear body. Taste: At first - medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour; in the end - medium sweetness, medium sourness, lightly bitter; too short aftertaste. Palate: light to medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation.

Bottle; pours clear amber with a beige head; aroma of caramel and citrus; taste is mostly caramel and some biscuit notes; finish is dry with just a hint of bitterness; simple but okay

330ml bottle split between two of us at an Irish beer tasting session at my place on 11th Nov 2016. Despite visiting the brewpub in Cork (back in 2012) I have never rated any of their beers before. I know I had some when there, but no evidence of ratings anywhere. Anyway this semi-sweet malty brew was fine: red/amber body, off-white head. Red berries wrapped in caramel molasses and a woody flavoured hop leaf flavour, aroma similar in nature. Liked it.
